“DO NOT STAY IN THIS BLAST FROM THE PAST”
Reviewed 1 March 2014 via mobile

We stayed for two nights and from booking to departure it was just wrong. The reception team seemed clueless and it took three goes to get our reservation right. The pleasant exterior hides a throw back to the 80's with beige bland colour schemes and paper napkins to match the mood. Mature lady on the bar could barely manage a smile and seem fluster all the time. The food was not up to much and was a similar to the decor. The whole place seemed a refuge for the older generation and was more akin to an old peoples home than a country house hotel. The hotel is clean, but smells a bit damp in places and despite the lick of paint here and there is well past it's sell by date.

We attended a Ladies Night Masonic Lodge function earlier month and were most impressed with the service and food. The tables were nicely arranged so diners were not cramped together, the dance floor was spacious, the food was lovely and generous, the service was slick- we were impressed with how the front of house gentleman (Neil?) made sure everything ran smoothly It was obvious that the waiting staff were professional. The waiters helped with distributing the raffle prizes. Such a lovely touch. The Hotel also donated a raffle prize - think it was a stay for 2 people? The proceeds went to a cancer charity. (Pity we didn't win that prize!) I would not hesitate to book/recommend any corporate functions here. The car park was very spacious so no problems of finding a car parking space. We have not stayed at the hotel but I am sure that it wouldn't disappoint.

was booked in for 2 nights as a surprise birthday pressie. the rooms were lovely so clean and a lovely size good size bathroom and a extra comfy bed. the views from our room looked over the gardens and fields and out to sea. all the staff were so friendly and helpfully and made us feel very welcome. top notch food with good size portions and eggs from their chickens that are wondering around. I would definitely recommend this place and cant wait to go back, hopefully when the sun shinning to enjoy the beautiful garden.

This is our third visit to this beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds with views over fields to the sea. A hotel where you can relax in lovely, well equipped rooms. The food is excellent, to a point where our 14 year old preferred to stay in on the second night rather than going out. A hotel that not only accept dogs but they are welcomed with dog towels and biscuits in the rooms. We stay here as a family while visiting our daughter at Falmouth University.

A quick break to visit daughter at Exeter (Falmouth) campus, 10 mins away. Really good team looked after us wonderfully, well even down to dog towels on arrival and on return from walks. Lovely large double room overlooking the gardens and a great breakfast that kept us going all day.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights over Valentines Day weekend, we felt the accomodation and food offered excellent value. Although the surroundings are a little dated, everything was clean, warm and pleasant. The managers were lovely and all the staff we met too. It felt like visiting friends, which was lovely, also they have a hotel dog, who we loved, and dogs are welcomed there. The best thing about it though by far was the standard of food, it was brilliant!
