Converted boathouse or similar on the quayside at Flushing. Beamed interior, a mix of open tables and banquette-like seating, teeny porthole-like windows and a woodburning stove all add up to give a cosy and informal atmosphere. Our party had mussels, a fab crab bisque with the largest crab cake I've ever seen, vanilla slices and local beers and ciders. The prices were very reasonable and this was a great place to shelter for a couple of hours from the inclement weather. Recommended.

I booked for 5 of us to celebrate my wife Poppy's recent birthday.
The setting is just fantastic, the food amazing & the service excellent.
But what made the evening one to remember was the effort & ingenuity of mine host once aware of the occassion.
Balloons, confetti, firework candles on a birthday cake all topped-off with a lovely complementary glass of Cognac for her ladyship.
Now that is service!
Well done.
We'll be back - that is for certain.

This little gem is well worth a visit. Fantastic location on the pier in Flushing. Food is really good. We had a king prawn starter and a Welsh rarebit style doughnut starter. Both were really good, but the Welsh rarebit was especially delicious. The high level set by the starters was fully continued by our Paella main. The service was extraordinarily good, with a surplus of good food and drinks suggestions, as well as facts about the 17th century building in which the restaurant is situated, Flushing and Cornwall in general. The restaurant is highly recommended.

We had a most enjoyable evening at the Waterside. Our waiter/host was excellent, speaking knowledgeably about each dish and making excellent recommendations.

We started by sharing 3 tapas dishes (Welsh rarebit donuts, teriyaki chicken and tiger prawns). All delicious.

We then had two excellent fish curries (described as "kick and tickle" - definitely a kick but very pleasant). These came with the best onion bhaji I've had, rice AND nan. Sounds a lot but all fairly small so it added up to s filling but manageable meal (ok I left a little bit). My daughter had fish and chips and the fish was fantastic (light crisp batter and not fatty at all). The chips were, I have to say, just handmade chips.

Deserts of icecream, chocolate pot with brownie, and orange pud - all delicious.

£83 for 3 of us in total (inc drinks). A finger bowl following the starters would have been good but I cant think of anything else. Views excellent. Nice and cozy and welcoming. We would go again.

Try the fish curry it's better than what we have had in the Far East, and a warm welcome and good service to!
