Owner description: Phoenix is an award winning independently operated multi-screen cinema on the east coast of Cornwall in the historic town of Falmouth. It is housed within a beautiful Nineteenth Century former "Drill Hall" building. Phoenix contains five cinema screens playing mainstream, classic and art-house releases with three auditoria offering luxury seating with armchairs, sofas, side tables and full waiter service. The two main larger auditoria provide traditional theatre-style cinema seating with stadium layouts and full digital sound and picture. The cinema, as you'd expect, also has a long contemporary confectionery and popcorn counter, but it also houses a stylish bar and restaurant on the first floor with chef-prepared meals, light cinema-snacks or freshly ground coffee and pots of tea. In 2009, the year that Phoenix opened, it won the prestigious UK Independent Cinema Of The Year award. Phoenix is part of the Merlin Cinemas group

We decided to go this cinema one extremely wet afternoon and we weren't disappointed. Homemade Battenburg cake in the bar area, wow, homemade! and it was scrummy, thank you. The seats in the cinema were very comfortable and the screen was of a good size.
Overall a very personal, friendly cinema, we will return when the summer season is over.

Came across this cinema on a wet day whilst trying to entertain the kids in Falmouth.

Our screen only had c.40 seats all leather and like sitting in your front room at home...very comfortable and a great experience.

Drinks are very over priced. A medium diet coke was £2.50 for which I could get several litres in a supermarket.

Bought the meal deal for the kids. Ticket, drink, main course and ice cream for £9.95 which was great value.

Supervisor in the cafe was very attentive and good service. In the front box office, it was slow at times with a queue building frequently.

A great little find and recommended.

We love our cinema. After having years of no cinema in Falmouth, I was very excited that the Phoenix was to be built. Utilising a run down but historic building was a bonus and restored an eye sore. We can't fault the staff or the service. We visit the cinema weekly and sometimes several times over a few days to see all the films we want to catch. I am a wheelchair user and the lift and access is spot on. I am also a movie magic card owner which means I get great discount on finds and the movie meal deals are amazing value. On the few occasions where we have experienced a problem, the staff have solved the issue immediately without fuss. Maybe those who have written negative reviews would have been best served to have complained at the time. Thumbs up Phoenix Falmouth.

but once your inside it is just like any other cinema... normal suburban offering... good quality sound and vision.
