Owner description: Phoenix is an award winning independently operated multi-screen cinema on the east coast of Cornwall in the historic town of Falmouth. It is housed within a beautiful Nineteenth Century former "Drill Hall" building.Phoenix contains five cinema screens playing mainstream, classic and art-house releases with three auditoria offering luxury seating with armchairs, sofas, side tables and full waiter service. The two main larger auditoria provide traditional theatre-style cinema seating with stadium layouts and full digital sound and picture. The cinema, as you'd expect, also has a long contemporary confectionery and popcorn counter, but it also houses a stylish bar and restaurant on the first floor with chef-prepared meals, light cinema-snacks or freshly ground coffee and pots of tea. In 2009, the year that Phoenix opened, it won the prestigious UK Independent Cinema Of The Year award. Phoenix is part of the Merlin Cinemas group

I can't thank you enough for organising for a great birthday surprise for our 16 year olds birthday. The team at head office and in Falmouth were so helpful, that he enjoyed a unique experience of 2 hours playing his xbox on the big screen with a few friends.
All the staff have been so helpful and we love coming to watch films here and would highly recommend this to anyone. Thank you for always being so helpful, the food is really nice and you have great staff there xx

“A good experience”
Reviewed 16 December 2013

There are several screens in this cinema and a good cafe as well.
I like to be able to order a drink or food from my seat before the film starts.

“great cinema”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Friendly atmosphere. All sorts of deals and offers. Membership makes tickets considerably cheaper. Some of the screens allow food and drink to be bought and taken in. Comfortable seating and sofas.

“Cinema is the new Cinema”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

I like this place. It's small, comfortable and modern yet for the oldies like me has a bit of history to it being a former drill hall in days gone by.

It's a multi screen, four I think, yet the rooms are just big enough for a big screen experience yet just small enough not to feel lost in a huge open space. The sound if pretty awesome as well without being OTT loud to the point your ears bleed.

Seats are reasonably comfy sofa types and you can take food in. This is great if you are doing the eating, not so great if the elephant sat next to you is spilling it all over you.

The "restaurant" does typical fast food but what else do you need?

Overall this is a nice place for newly dating couples or equally a family outing with the kids. Great for Falmouth and the local area.
