Description: At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We don’t do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. We’re all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food.Falmouth Bay and the Maritime Museum are both great reasons to visit Falmouth but now you have one more: us! Our designers were inspired by the decidedly nautical vibe in Cornwall and have created a rather fishy restaurant. Intrigued? Come down and see what all the fuss is about.Dine al fresco with an outdoor dining area for sunny weather.

I must firstly say as a family of 6 we could not fault the service at this restaurant. The young friendly waitress was very attentive and we could not fault this whatsoever, however we ordered calamari and the waitress said they had sold out completely .we then ordered two lasagne and were then told lasagne had completely sold out too!!!!! The restaurant only had at the most three tables in besides us and it was only 530pm. Children left disappointed , the food arrived promptly but only warm verging on cold!!! Just seemed to get worse. Management if you are trying to compete with other Italian style chains or family restaurant , I don't think you can afford to be out of lasagne and calamari and various other items we asked for that you did not have.No discount was offered or alternatives just a blank face when we asked if the bill would be full price as we ended up ordering things just because all other choices were out of stock,,!!!!!!!

The icecream was delicious and the general feeling was great in the restaurant but we came away disappointed and won't bother returning, other places in Falmouth where children won't be left disappointed. Such a shame !!!!

We never expect much from high street branded restaurants - we go with low expectations as usually the food is average and the service is carried out by untrained youngsters earning cash to see them through their studies. Well - not at Zizzi!! This place cuts it more than any other eatery in Falmouth. We were welcomed at the door immediately - EVERY single member of staff including those in the kitchen, were smiling. The staff are quite clearly trained to a very high standard in all areas - I would employ any one of them tomorrow. Our waiter was brilliant and friendly to boot - service was really well executed. We had anti pasti and gamberoni to start - this was 100 times better than the previous night at Prezzo. For main course we have pizza, spatchcock chicken chicetti. All of which were delicious. Their ice creams are made by an ex-employee who had a passion for gelato - this goes for all their staff, their talents are quite clearly nurtured and this makes them all shine! We loved it so much we went there 3 times during our week in Falmouth - we come down here 4 times a year and will be coming back to Zizzi very soon. Only one complaint - there's not on in Bath where we are from - please, please open one there soon!!!

The current rating here seems unreasonably low. Maybe it's because Zizzi is new to Falmouth.

We took drinks outside because we were early. They took a while coming but once inside we were treated with a great view table.

Starters excellent, mains excellent (beware the chillies in a Diavolo pizza if not accustomed!). The wine worked, the coffee worked.

OK, so Zizzi is a chain, but this is a large, bright, active restaurant with a buzz. You can SEE the dough being prepared. It's fresh and served beautifully.

Out waitress Ali was from the local university and such a great sport - cheerful and chatting and helpful.

We had a great meal with a lovely view, and were served royally.

I use Zizzi in Henley on Thames and we find Zizzi changes menus more than Strada (which we also like) and the Falmouth branch certainly stood up well to scrutiny.

Great place for a meal. You don't need to pile yourself into the cattle market famous fish bar across the way!

Enjoy. And thanks, Ali.

Visited Zizzi for first time with friends about a month ago. Had the Anti-zizzi starters to share and then one of the pizzas. We were all happy with our food and the friendly service and the sun was shining to boot so fab venue watching the boats in the harbour.

I was a little dissapointed when I saw the sign go up for Zizzi's in Events Square. I couldn't help feel what a shame it was that yet another chain had moved into Falmouth. Still we own a business here and our customers need to know our opinion of the local restaurants so my friends and I went to try it during its opening week. We were a party of four adults and 5 children between 5 and 14. In summary it was absolutely fabulous and we had a great night. Bought more wine than we thought we would and really, really enjoyed ourselves. The decor is sympathetic to the area and they have one of the best views of Falmouth harbour. They have managed to achieve a good coastal/ maritime feel with some quirky touches. Silver birch trees between the tables, instant photos of staff on bull dog clips, open kitchen area, zoned areas using a change of chair or table style and a feeling of being somewhere is achieved. The water jugs, the plastic thermal glasses for the Irish coffee, the boards the breads and starters were served on and the ice cream dishes were all really cool. The details were surprising and just great. The food was good too you'll be happy to know. I ordered squid for my starter and after our excitement over the decor and masses of bread for starters we all agreed that if they got the squid right we would forever be fans. And they did get it right. Even the children tried some. We had two people wait our table. A lady with bright red lipstick who was personable and made us laugh and a guy who tried really hard to treat the children as well as the adults. The girls were absolutely fascinated by a man in the kitchen who made the pizza bases. They watched him for a good hour throwing his dough about and he played up to them which was very kind of him. In summary Zizzi was a lovely surprise and a refreshing change from the usual boring chain approach which we couldn't help but enjoy. We've already recommended Zizzis and I am recommending it now. Aswell as supporting our local privately owned businesses we'll pop into Zizzis now and again too.
