Description: At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We don’t do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. We’re all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food.Falmouth Bay and the Maritime Museum are both great reasons to visit Falmouth but now you have one more: us! Our designers were inspired by the decidedly nautical vibe in Cornwall and have created a rather fishy restaurant. Intrigued? Come down and see what all the fuss is about.Dine al fresco with an outdoor dining area for sunny weather.

“Poor service, inconsistent food, lovely views/interior”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014

A friend and I chose to eat at Zizzi because of a 25% off deal, and the ease of booking a table online.
We arrived at 6pm and the restaurant was practically empty. We were shown to a table by the window. The views were lovely, and the restaurant itself is very stylishly decorated.
We ordered drinks and they arrived promptly. Our food order was taken, we initially ordered the cheese fondue but we were told they had ran out. We ordered the garlic bread with caramelised onions to start, calzone and pizza for main, and lemon sorbet and chocolate melt for dessert.
Our starter came and it was really delicious, as we were sharing we were offered plates which ended up being slightly dusty, but nothing a wipe with a serviette couldn't fix.
My main of calzone was huge! Unfortunately it was lacking in flavour and quite watery, and the wooden board it was served on was a tad dirty. My friend enjoyed her pizza.
Before dessert, we asked for a jug of water which never arrived.
My chocolate melt for dessert was really delicious, it was warm and gooey and served with a tasty ice cream. My friend's lemon sorbet was also really nice. To her surprise she found a plastic tab inside her ice cream. She mentioned it to the waiter who mumbled and walked away, he was seen talking to the manager who shook his head. The manager came over and was very apologetic, he offered to remove the sorbet from the bill but he stated that there was no way the plastic could have come from their kitchen (not sure what he was trying to imply!).
We asked our waiter for the bill, 30 minutes later it hadn't turned up. We asked again, and he apologised saying that he thought the manager had given it to us.
All in all, the food was inconsistent with the starter and desserts being great, and the mains being so-so. Service was lacking, our drinks never turned up, the waiter never came to check if we were enjoying the meal, plates were grubby, and my friend found plastic in her dessert.
Will I return? Only if I fancy a meal out, but strapped for cash!

“Fairly good food, pretty area/views!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

When we first arrived, the waiter was unsure whether there was a table for the three of us or not. Fortunately, there was a table by the window available and we sat down. Our table looked onto the harbour and the area of Discovery Quay. This was a nice view. We ordered drinks which took about 5 mins to arrive. We ordered the Italian bread basket and olives to start which were nice and served authentically. I had the 'big antipasti' for my main course but it was a bit on the small side. My daughter had the Al Forno pasta with chicken and bacon which she enjoyed but the pasta was slightly dry. My wife had the crab linguine which she said was very nice. The waiter was attentive and did his best to accommodate us even though the restaurant had a large party and was very busy. My daughter had the toffee and banana ice cream sundae which she thoroughly enjoyed! Overall, fairly good food and situated in a nice area with good views.

“Bit chaotic!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2014

We were seated near to kitchen and oven, so noisy and very hot. First course of bread and olives was good but unfortunately the Ravioli main was swimming in oil and overdosed with pesto. One of the other dishes ordered was Pollo Focaccia, which just seemed to be half a chicken on bread with not a lot else. It definitely needed a sauce as very dry! Staff appeared to be rushed off their feet even though the restaurant was only half full.

“Too much noise”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2014 via mobile

Went to zizzi in a Saturday night, was impressed with their on line booking system. The restaurant was extremely noisy, in fact it was really off putting, there needs to be more screening to deflect the noise. We wanted to order a sharing plate for stater but were told there were none left, a bit difficult to understand in a restaurant chain with the same menu every night. The waitress was lovely very smiley and chatty. We had the chicken in Parma ham which was good, the 1/2 chicken on focaccia which was burnt and too oily, and a pizza which was average. An ok dining experience but nothing to write home about. Prezzo is better!
