We first visited Poltair when our Son started at Falmouth University and have been going back ever since. He is now 28! We have tried most of the rooms and they are all first class, we won't tell you our favourite because we want it to be free next time we go!! So you'll have to try them all for yourself. Breakfast, brilliant. Welcome, brilliant. As you can see we are huge fans.

A warm welcome and attention to detail await. Easy to find, park and ideally placed to enjoy the best of Falmouth on foot. Malcolm & Anne Grimsley deserve to be top of the list. The bedrooms are very good value; it is hard to think of anything not provided. Breakfasts are a real treat, underpinned by Anne's home cooking ; bread, jams and best bacon, coffee and kippers. Depends on what you want but ideal for older people (mobile, for the stairs) a comfy bed and a quiet night. Next door is the Royal Duchy for a smart drink and, going west, the Indaba and Cove restaurants (Swanpool & Maenporth) are national standard treasures. Above all, Malcolm is so pleased to make you happy.

We wouldn't have gone back if we hadn't liked it the first time. This year we were in "Beachcomber" a lovely spacious room with ensuite, TV/DVD, tea/coffe facilities with REAL MILK in the fridge and free WiFi. Can you eat lunch after the famous Poltair breakfast? Maybe a snack or a pastie ... but the Full English Breakfast certainly fills you up. Bravo, Poltair, we'll be back next year and thanks once more to Malcolm and Anne for their welcome and hospitality.

(For an evening meak we recommend the Mali Thai restaurant in Quay Street, behind the Chain Locker pub just off the Customs House Square.)

I picked Poltair after reading varous Trip Advisor reviews and so expectations were high! Pleased to say, Poltair did not in any way disappoint. Everyone very helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. Lovely room, we had the top room in the centre and made good use on the balcony with its great see views. Other members of the family had other rooms and all very happy but if you can get the "Beachcomber Room", then go for it...

We had a wonderful stay at Poltair when we were on our honeymoon. Our room (Seagull) is beautifully appointed and comfortable, with a gorgeous ocean view from the balcony. Proprietors Malcolm and Anne are warm and welcoming and the breakfasts are hearty and delicious. This is a fantastic guest house and worth every pence!
