“The staff made the weekend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 November 2011

Worth every one of the points on the four AA stars. The public rooms could not be beaten for general comfort, magnificent views and standard of service. My bedroom, albeit with no outlook and not overlarge, had all the 'bits and pieces' you need; It was serviced by a chambermaid at least three times a day! The food was attractive, beautifully presented and imaginative and the service in the restaurant was way above criticism. My only complaint was that the loudspeaker for the singer was so close to my dinner table that I had to leave the restaurant but the 'thump-thump' from the music was still clearly audible in my bedroom.

Room Tip: Not immediately above the restaurant

Stayed for 2 nights on recommendation of friend as we had to come down in a hurry to attend A funeral. Arrived at 10 am having travelled on the night sleeper and breakfast arranged for us and room ready without any fuss or shaking of the head and sucking of teeth . Lovely to look out to sea and liked the binoculars provided in the bedrooms. Very comfy bed, very clean good food and very friendly staff. Quite a few in for dinner but we did bring the average age down a bit. Unlike the other hotels on the Cliff road it was not a Tinsel and Turkey event just people enjoying the efficient hotel with staff who seemed to be genuine in trying to provide a service. WELL DONE AND THANK YOU

Room Tip: Pay the extra for sea view but talk to Reception when you book they are very helpful

Cannot fault The Royal Duchy, from the moment we arrived to the day we left we recieved first class service. We stayed for 10 Days B&B and Evening dinner. Breakfast was buffet, fresh fruit salads, cereals, meats, cheeses and cooked breakfasts to order. Evening dinner was fantastic they also catered for my wife who is a vegan, having a seperate menu every evening.
Rooms where of a good size and the beds where soooo comfortable.
There was evening entertainment most nights ranging from Casino night, horseracing, magicians and bands.
The hotel is only a short walk to Falmouth Town which has a good array of shops and boutiques.
Lastly I must comment on the waiting staff who where fantastic.Anna and Allan in the restaurant where realy friendly and very attentive to your needs. The bar staff where always at hand to refil my glass with a Doombar,Thanks to Alan, Daisey and the barman (forgot his name)
Will definately return .

We stayed in this hotel after checking out of another hotel early. We liked this one so much we stayed another night. Although the room was small, it was clean and very comfortable. The location of this hotel is perfect. It is right on the promenade and perfect for evening and morning walks. It is also only a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre.
The staff are very helpful and courteous, greeting you every time you pass them.
The pool is a good size but the changing rooms are a bit small.
The breakfast was ok but a bit slow at times.
