Stayed here with family in March 2014. Standard room with inland view.
Room nicely furnished, though a bit tight. Lovely comfortable king size bed. Bathroom very clean and clearly quite new.

Whoever thought a square loo seat would be comfortable, though, must have a strangely shaped bottom ...

The staff here are extremely pleasant and helpful.

There is a nice indoor swimming pool, big enough to actually swim in, and a decent sized, nice and hot, sauna.

The dinner (evening meal was absolutely superb, if the portions were a little on the small side. Emphasis was on pretty presentation rather than filling the belly - but the food was absolutely delicious.

The only real downside was the breakfast. I ordered the full English. It took rather a long time to come and when it did it was very ordinary. Really rather a disappointment.

The hotel makes its own bread on site and that is very good indeed.

All the staff where so polite and helpful. The restaurant staff including the ever present assistant manager could not be faltered. Change of menu each day-presentation and quality of food including a separate menu for my wife who is coeliac were outstanding. Room was clean and only gripe was the too soft mattress which may not suite everyone.
The transformation to our trip here 2-3years ago was superb.

Room Tip: We had one of the cheaper rooms this time but lounge facilities excellent - weather good so little time spent in room which we found quite adequate.

We arrived and booked in quickly and easily. I have eaten here lots of times but never stayed before. Lovely location on the seafront cannot be criticised!

I had a small single room and it looked over the back of the hotel, but at £45 Inc breakfast I thought it was fine.

My mate and I were staying here for a musical event at the Pavilions, a 3 minute walk away. After the gig we arrived back at the hotel, the bar was shut and no one apart from the "Night Manager" was about. We then spent the next couple of hours in the bar with the night manager. Unfortunately he was supplying the beer and we were drinking it, (he had none). What a lovely bloke, musical, political and philosophical discussions had between us before we went to bed at about 0130. Give this bloke a rise in pay!

Anyway, the following morning we went down for a lovely breakfast. Fantastic variety of food, fruit, meats, cheeses and an awesome cooked breakfast. One possible improvement is that the hogs pudding used should be replaced by Crowle and Moss hogs pudding. Truro recipe, well worth a search to discover who actually owns it now. If that was there, would have given this 5 stars!

My husband and I have just returned from our 3rd short break here. .We had a de luxe room this time which was excellent. The location really is amazing - waking up to the sun on the sea just across the road! The staff in the dining room are lovely, so friendly and helpful.
The food is very good (especially the breakfast bacon).
Beds are very comfortable and bathroom very well equipped, even though I think it's a bit daft positioning the towel rail on the wall behind the toilet. Nearer the wash basin would be much better, not having to drip water all over the floor when you wash your hands. That is my only gripe though, it doesn't stop me going back.

Room Tip: De luxe rooms are most expensive but soooooo worth it. Very spacious with great sea views.

We had not stayed at the Royal Duchy for several years but it was great to be back. Our son and daughter in law came with us for a two night break on 22/23 February. From start to finish everything was superb and could not be faulted. Everything seemed to be in pristine condition and a credit to the Housekeeping staff. All the staff were on top of their jobs, friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Having been to Falmouth on numerous occasions we did not ask for a sea view, but for new guests the sea view is something special. Food and service in restaurant excellent Well done will be looking out for the next special offer break. David and Joan Williams

Room Tip: Although there is a lift some rooms are quite a long walk away from it as the corridor is L shaped.
