Apparently where Wind in the Willows was written. Nice old hotel. Some very unsympathetic tweaking but otherwise a good place to stay if visiting falmouth for work or a couple of nights. badly let down by the low quality of service and food in the restaurant. Needs urgent attention.

Worth paying the extra for a view. We had a very spacious room which had been very recently refurbished, and had a good sized bathroom with bath and seperate shower. The bed was very comfortable, the setting very quiet and the breakfast was very good, although I comment on meals as with the help of trip advisr we found Ratho in town which was superb. The hotel is close to town without being on top of it. The staff were excellent and bar prices very reasonable. We would definately stay here again without hesitation.

unfortunatley thay completely messed up or reservation, checked us in o an already occupied room and then offered something less acceptable. After a lot of "discussion" they offered us an acceptable alternative, but unfortunately this meant moving rooms on the second of our two night stay, not ideal.
However the hotel is clean, freshly decorated an great position.
Dont know if the chef was off the night we sate there, but it was dire, all four of us left about 50% of our meal, interseting, no one questioned why.

Would stay again, but eat ther....Never!

The staff always had a smile, I mean always, what a pleasure, can't fault anything about our over night stay. The room was great, warm clean modern and had a nice feel to it. The view was amazing within the first hour of being there we watched a very playful seal under neath our window messing about in the water. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. The waiter/waitress service was first class, so professional. Thank you The greenback Hotel you made me very happy.
