“A trip up the river”
Reviewed 1 July 2013

We took the two hour trip up the Helford river. The boat had refreshments and running commentry on points of interest. A pleasant way to spend two hours and good value for money. You do get to see a reasonable amount in the two hours and the commentry was informative. It wasnt the most sunny of days but was still pleasant on board with option to be outside or under cover.

“Expensive and horrid”
Reviewed 8 October 2012

I often come to Cornwall and have travelled form Truro to St Mawes on an Enterprise Ferry which my family really enjoyed and we had an oyster card which made it really good value because we could visit the St Mawes Castle. So took the train to Falmouth for a trip to the Helford River on board what seemed to be a tug of some sort.

We set of and after about 10 minutes the man informed us that we cold not go to the Helford and so they took us for a round trip back up towards Truro. Having just completed this trip we asked if we could get off at Trelissick Garden or Smuglers Cottage to which the answer was a rather blunt no. So I asked for a discount from the £14 and was told that "I had a river trip and it was not his f...ing fault the weather was bad"

To cap it off the tea was disgusting and the commentary very boring. Perhaps we just caught them on an off day and had we gone to the Helford we would have had a good trip?

Any way my advice would be to use Enterprise Ferries from the town pier in Falmouth or Truro.

“A day in the sun”

A peaceful way to spend the day, the commentary was well informed and the sun shone. It was great being able to get tea and coffee and sit and watch the world go by
