On a coach trip but a coach trip with a 5 star... rooms maybe a little small and maybe a bit dated but very clean and also very well kept, The meals are always 5 star as are all the staff who a credit to the Richardson group. I would stay here again and hope to be back again soon. Thank you for a really great week.

OK perhaps the title is a bit over the top but this hotel , part of the Richardson group is worth the visit . Having stayed at the Grand in Torquay we decided to try another of their hotels . It was a pity the time we visited was the storms and gales of February and also the planned trip by rail had to be abondoned and the car was the only practical way to get there , as the rail line was washed away at Dawlish . English splendour albeit needing a bit of resoration , good food and service , everything we expect from this group of hotels . he town is within easy walking distance , with local shops and of course the inevitable Wetherspoon's , always a welcome sight . Boat trips to various places and a pleasant walk to Pendennis castle . May well revisit in the future , but so far still prefer the Grand Torquay because of its ease of access , ( rail line permitting .

We booked a weekend on a special deal and it turned out to be great value for money. Booking over the phone was easy and we had good email communications from reception prior to our arrival which was a nice touch.
On arrival we were made very welcome with a complementary cream tea. The hotel was clean, tidy and the staff were helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. If we had any complaint it would be that the 'catch of the day' was the same on each evening of our 3 night stay, also the 'mothers pride' bread at breakfast was disappointing bearing in mind the excellent homemade rolls we were offered each evening. This didn't distract from the excellent food, service and friendliness of the staff who all were local people. A special mention of Faye who looked after the dining room every evening as well as finding time to help and train some new members of staff, she was a real star.
Thank you for a great time - we will be back.

Room Tip: Get a sea view, it's lovely going to sleep to the sound of the sea.

The hotel staff are very helpful. We even got a courtesy room call to ask if everything was OK. If you can, try to get a room with a sea view as the location is outstanding. The room we had was a little on the small side and it we had paid the full rate it would have seemed expensive. The hotel was busy but the rooms were quiet. Look out for late deals on the Richardson website.

We are 2 couple who went to the Falmouth for a single saturday night, on a really good deal. Because of the offer we thought we might not get the same as full paying guests. But that was not the case at all. The staff from the moment we walked in to the time we left, were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless. The bathrooms were the best I have seen is a large hotel. The food was very good. We have been to hotels in the past that advertise award winning chefs, and you nearly always leave disappointed. The chef at the Falmouth was excellent. The night we stayed they had a very large function on, but this in no way detracted from the quality of food or service. Only slight disappointment was being put a side room for dinner, which was a bit cold and soleless, But the waitress Lucy more than made up for that. The breakfast in the main dinning room could not be faulted. Again only one slight niggle no red bush tea, but that is really nit picking.
The only strange thing was a very large cardboard cut out of the owner of the hotel in the hallway, not really sure why it was there.
Anyway, we had a lovely time at the Falmouth.
