“Lovely short break”
Reviewed 2 August 2012

The place is actually more than a B&B, but is probably more a small hotel, well situated if you want to go to the beach and to the town, all walking.
Excellent room (with Air conditioning, probably because it was tha attick), excellent breakfast with good selection, spacious and clean room, warm environment. Definitely to take into consideration if you go to Falmouth

Very nice B&B and only a few minutes walk from the beach. Situated on the main road into Falmouth although it is still quite quiet at night. Very welcoming owners, very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and contained everything needed for our four nights stay. There was a good selection for breakfast, the full English was done to order and kept us going all morning. The harbour is within walking distance and there are lovely restaurants there for your evening meals. The restaurant at the beach down the road from the hotel does really good food. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend to our friends.

My wife and I have been visiting Cornwall for as long as we can remember. We have stayed in the best, and worst, places Cornwall has to offer. The Lugo Rock is an absolute "little gem"
Jane & Philip Carmichael - the proprietor's - make you very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are young, clean, happy and extremly polite. The Lugo Rock is advertised as a B&B, and it is one the very best we have stayed at. However - with 12 rooms, (two or three of which are famliy rooms), it has the feel of a cosy little famliy run hotel. The full english breakfast is second to none! - well ballanced, fresh, hot and served up quickly on spotlessly clean crockery. Recently re-decorated, our room was bright, clean and just what we would have expected at the price. The Lugo Rock has ample parking space for cars and would even take a small mini bus, (say a 12 seater). It's just a short walk to both the beach and town centre.
All-in-all it is definitely worth a visit. We can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to say if the room is not quite what you expected.

If you are staying here ask for a room in the old building. The rooms in the new wing are small and characterless. As a previous reviewer noted, it is more like a motel than a B&B. On the upside, the hosts are pleasant, the room was very clean and the breakfast was reasonable.

I had the pleasure of staying here last October with a few friends. The hosts and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly, it was great to chat with them- especially when we found out we had the local beer festival in common!

The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable - everything you could need. The breakfasts were excellent - more or less anything you liked cooked with all the other usual breakfast items.

We wouldn't hesitate about going back and are looking forward to our next trip down later this year.

I would not generally book a B&B but was travelling with a colleague who had made the booking as we were looking for a place within walking distance of the town centre, however our stay was very good nothing like my pre conceived notions and concerned of staying in someone's house.

The owner not too intrusive but friendly and helpfully, had to write our breakfast requirements in the book the night before which was novel but I guess ensured the kitchen were ready for you and food very freshly cooked not an overheated buffet.

Both of our rooms were pleasant and modern, flat screen tv's and quality free wifi

Short walk into town for dinner where there was plenty choice and topped off in the morning with a hearty breakfast,

Would I do B&B again ....I would this one
