“An idyllic Cornish cottage with a heavenly garden and a great base from which to explore Cornwall even by train!”

My friend and I loved our idyllic stay at Ancarva. It's such a beautiful, quaint and cosy cottage, very tastefully and sensitively decorated and equipped with absolutely everything required. Simon and Jacqui are outstanding hosts and made us feel so welcome with incredibly thoughtful touches such as the scones, the beautiful displays of fresh flowers and collecting us from the station. Everything was done to an exceptionally high standard and we really appreciated Simon and Jacqui's efforts to ensure everything was perfect for us. The garden is magical and we loved everything about this heavenly place. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the friendly local pub which had a very convivial atmosphere and lovely owner. The location of the cottage was excellent as we were able to take a short scenic stroll up to Perranwell Station which was served by an efficient and reliable train service. We visited places such as Falmouth, the beautiful beach at Carbis Bay, the charming St Ives and enjoyed a boat ride to Helford Passage. I would highly recommend this place, even if travelling by train as it makes for a relaxing and easy way of getting around. All in all it was an unforgettable break and I can't wait to visit again! A heartfelt thanks to Simon and Jacqui!

“Little Gem”

This was our first stay in this cottage, and I can honestly say what a little gem. From the moment we were met by the owners we were smitten with this cottage. We were guided around and told everything we needed to know. The cottage is well appointed and tastfully decorated, down to a vase of fresh flowers on the table. A delightful touch was the fresh scones, clotted cream, butter and jam, also the milk and eggs. We shown the secret garden which was also perfect. Just beware when parking on the drive, it is a little tight. The pub, The Royal Oak, just over the road serves beautiful meals and the staff are really friendly and obliging. All in all we had a great stay....

Our second stay at this property, Excellent as before, now with new furniture and TV. The cottage is still immaculately presented with high attention to detail. Fresh flowers and a cornish cream tea, were there to welcome us.Fully equipped,it lacks for nothing and a wealth of local tourist information is most helpful. The cottage is in a ideal location for touring cornwall. We shall certainly be returning

“The Perfect end to our Wedding Weekend”
Reviewed 4 December 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed at this wonderful cottage on our wedding night and the day after, to fully unwind and relax after what was a fabulous day. Every little detail had been thought of....we had bathrobes and slippers, beautiful rose petals on the bed with 'Mr & Mrs' cushions, the champagne was chilling in the fridge which we enjoyed drinking in the secret garden whilst eating the strawberries dipped in chocolate, another touch provided by Jacqui and Simon! The attention to detail was incredible, we were totally overwhelmed by the amount of effort that gone in to making this the perfect way to end a perfect weekend.
The cottage is situated in the perfect location, is beautifully decorated throughout and we highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a romantic getaway or long weekend.
