“Lovely B&B in a beautiful town!”
Reviewed 24 July 2013

We would highly recommend this B&B if you want to visit Looe! We had a lovely welcome from Sammy who is such a nice guy - he was always smiling and chatty and even offered us both a drink on the house which was very kind. The room was great and very clean, and it was literally a two minute walk through the centre to the beach. We had great weather so in the evening we sat out on the terrace at the front of the B&B with a view out over the water which was very nice! Breakfast in the morning was also great.
Thank you Sammy, we'll definitely be coming back!

Stayed with a friend/colleague here after a work trip to Par (wanted to make the most if of a long trip from London to west country!) and very glad we did. Looe is beautiful and location of guesthouse is great, few mins stroll from gift shops, beach and restaurants. Welcome from owner Sam was very warm and genuine, and Dave that worked there gave us a welcome drink on the house if a 'triple' Malibu and coke each (oops hope I don't get Dave into trouble!) which is a nice touch I've not received elsewhere in UK. Both the guys took the time to talk to us and advise on what to do with our free day. We walked to polperro which is a must, great walk, stunning scenery and polperro itself is amazingly pretty and you can get a boat back from there to Looe if you can't face a 2 hour walk back. If the sun is out take sun cream, I burnt my feet terribly on the walk there! Looe has good nightlife for a small town, saw 3 live acts in two nights and atmosphere was lovely, very warm folk! Guesthouse room was comfortable, clean and everything we needed for a short visit. they also kindly custom made me a vegan breakfast which was nice.Sam also supports Chelsea so made me like the place even more! I don't usually review UK hotels, but wanted to give this place a thumbs up, & will stay a few days again next time work takes me to the west country, thanks for a great stay. Sarah and Isla.

We had a 4 night stay. The welcome from Sam and staff was so friendly, you are made to feel so very welcome. Clean comfortable rooms, coupled with a great breakfast in the morning. Bridgeside is so well positioned in the small port, with a short walk you are in the centre of Looe. We will be back.

Room Tip: Ask for the front room with the bay window over looking the bridge.

Stayed in Bridge side for one night Saturday 4th may. When we arrived we were welcomed with a brilliant atmosphere and welcoming host (Sammy), he made us tea and biscuits while we waited for the room to be ready and told us to make ourselves at home.

Our room was at the front of the house with brilliant views of the river . (it was the room that I was hoping we would get after looking at the pictures on laterooms, so even more of a bonus). Had an en suite and you could not fault the cleanliness of the room and the whole guest house.

Breakfast was brilliant and delicious :) again Sammy was very friendly, chatty and asked all the guests what there plans were for the day, and advised us on places to visit.

To sum up.. I will definitely be visiting bridge side again! Close to the centre, brilliant views from room and terrace. Welcoming and homely atmosphere. Owner/host (Sammy) was enthusiastic and happy. Value for money!

Room Tip: We had room 6. At the front of the house on top floor. Excellent views of the river, west looe . Pe...

I was passed on to this B&B by my first choice who insisted on a minimum three day booking, I was glad I came here, and it was cheaper! The owner is the most enthusiastic I have ever come across, I'm sure nothing would be too much trouble. The room I had was spotless and overlooked the river, breakfast was lovely, and this B&B is a short stroll from all the pubs and restaurants Looe has to offer. The only snag for many people will be the owners insistence on sending a cheque for advance bookings. This must cost him business so I would strongly suggest he looks into some kind of internet payment system.

We stayed here in February 2013 for 2 nights but wish it had been for longer. We were welcomed as friends not guests. Breakfast was excellent and the view from our room of the harbour was magnificent. Sammy was a great host. Have put my rating as excellent but it should be higher.
