“Disappointed”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Heard good things about the food in the pub. I had lighter bites fish bites. It was just batter hardly any fish in it. A friend had chicken madras and it came still frozen in places. Nice pub itself but food not great at all.

“Good baguettes”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Really nice, reasonably priced baguettes for a quick snack and drink. Pool table for the kids, which always helps.

“Friendly and welcoming”
Reviewed 31 July 2014 via mobile

We popped into the "ship" on a red hot July day for a bit of respite from the sun and a bite to eat.
Firstly and most important for us was the fact it's a very dog friendly pub and the chap behind the bar made a great fuss of our 2 mutts.
Secondly the food was very well priced and served quickly along with a cold refreshing drink
The pub has a nice friendly atmosphere and the surroundings are comfortable .I would highly recommend to any visitor to looe when a nice meal and drink is called for.

“Weekend break”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

We arrived at the Inn and was greeted by Darren who told us our rooms weren't ready (we did arrive early) but he took our bags and said he would put them into our rooms, later when we returned Darren showed us to our rooms mine was at the front looking down onto the main street of Looe, it was clean and nicely laid out, tea, coffee and biscuits, there are signs saying that as they are in the center of town you may experience some noise from the passing public, I didn't really find this to be much of a problem as it went quiet just after 11:30 pm.
the next morning we went to breakfast the room was big and nicely laid out, there are a few cobwebs on the high ceiling but it was clean, tea and coffee was brought to the table and full English was ordered by all, it arrived in good time and was well presented best thing about it was there was no grease superb food lots of toast and attentive staff that made sure we had everything we wanted.
when we arrived back on the evening I went to shower but there was no hot water, and the same on the following morning, we spoke at breakfast to the staff who tried there best to sort the problem, however early Sunday morning is probably not the best time to find someone but when we went to pay our bill we were offered a discount which we were more than happy with, so apart from this we had a great stay, the bar is a traditional Cornish pub with local ales and ciders although we didn't eat there in the evening the food looked good and judging by the amount of people coming in it must have been good, we will certainly stay there again.
