Beautifully appointed rooms and a lovely breakfast, with home made bread. Lodge is very well situated, close to the harbour and the on-site parking is a big bonus. Ralph & Annie did all they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible, with the offer of tea etc on arrival. Very good standard of toiletries, tea- making facilities.

We spent 4 nights at Cherrywood in August before flying home to Australia. This is the most beautiful B & B I have ever stayed in. The room was beautifully decorated in aqua themes. The bed was very comfortable, towels were luxurious, and appointments in the room included flat screen TV, comfortable chairs and bath robes and slippers. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful with advise for shopping and sightseeing. The breakfast was delicious. We could order what we liked, it was freshly cooked and served at the table. (a welcome change to the hotel breakfast buffets). The parking spot was an added bonus. Parking in Looe was always full, so the bonus of a car park at Cherrywood was great. It was an short walk down to the town for dinner. We stayed during the holiday season with many holiday makers in Looe. We visited other towns such as Polperro, Padstow and Lands End. We could not visit Port Isaac as the car parks were full. Tip - if you want to visit other towns go early. Thank you to our hosts who made our stay enjoyable and memorable.

We have just arrived home after spending 3 nights at Cherrywood Lodge. We had a lovely welcome - we were met by Ralph who carried our bags in and Annie gave us a cup of tea which was certainly needed after our long journey. Our room was lovely - great furnishings and finishing touches. The breakfast was lovely with homemade bread to die for! The location of the B&B is five minutes downhill into Looe. Not sure why negative comments have been made regarding the car parking as there is enough parking for all the guests and these spaces are sacred as the free parking in Looe is limited. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to family and friends.

Don't bother unless you are booking on the internet, phone bookings aren't important to them. Turned up on Tuesday afternoon after checking on Saturday morning that everything was OK, to befobbed of for a couple of hours because he said he didn't know what his wife was doing with the bookings, we then go back to be told there was no room even though it had been booked an a deposit paid at the end of may, yes they had found somewhere for us to stay but had to spend one night at Shutta House which was very good, then the other three nights at Anchor Lights which was also very good. Yes we were compensated but I don't think enough, as it ruined our very first trip to Looe, an has really put us of going again.

Dear Guest,
All of our guests are very important to us at Cherrywood Lodge
By phone or on line.
In two words,
Simply human error. (after all we are all human).
Apologies were made and 2 hours were spent trying our utmost
To sort this out and find alternative accommodation , which we
Managed to in a more expensive bed and breakfast which we at Cherrywood Lodge
paid for, not the difference I might add but the full cost of 3 nights at our expense.
Plus offerring a free holiday at their convenience .
What more in compensation could we have done, one would ask themselves.
We were under the impression we had done the best we could, in a very stressful
situation to please the customer.
How ever we apologise unreservedly once again.
We would also like to apologise to our future guests for having to read a review of
this nature.
Kindest regards
Annie

Spent 5 nights at the Cherrywood Lodge and was disappointed in the area and also the parking facilities,we had lots of problems getting our car out and had to get other guests to move their cars to let us out.And as the lady in the last review said reversing out scraped the bottom of the car, really steep, also there was a gate and a path if you were walking down into town but at night there was no lights it was very dark.Sorry but we did not find the hosts very friendly, and our room was lovely but the wet floor never dried and we never had fresh towels in 5 nights.Have been to better and the house is on a steep hill just off a busy road which you have to cross, also parking was a big issue for us.

Cherrywood lodge is the perfect B&B to stay in for a short break to explore Looe and the surrounding area. The hotel is situated on a hill so may not be ideal for guests with walking difficulties also not ideal if you intend taking a low profile car or sportscar as the car park has a large hump which scrapes across the bottom.
The room we stayed in was decorated very very tastefully with a wet room and lovely plush big towels. Breakfast is fab with plenty of choices catered for by Annie.
We visited the small fishing town of Fowey (pronounced Foy) which you get to via a small car ferry and is very picturesque and full of character (and characters!!) we also visited Polperro by boat from Looe which is also worth a visit which takes you past Looe island and the seals en route .......
Looe itself has plenty of places to eat and drink and we can highly recommend (which was recommended to us by Ralph) The Travellers Quay which serves the most fantastic seafood and fish dishes another place we visited was Lascares wine bar where we had a fab steak and chips ....l
We would definitely stay here again if we do decide to take the long journey to Looe in the future as it by far sounds and looks like the best and nicest place to stay in the area.

Spent three nights at Cherrywood and can't wait to go back again soon. As we walked in the door there was a great welcome, a big smile and a pot of tea waiting for us.

Annie & Ralph are really great people who can't do enough for you. The dog on the bed made from towels was a true piece of art worthy of a Turner prize, thanks Ralph. Woof woof!

The 'wet room' was fantastic, we haven't slept so well for years, the bed was just so comfy. When we did manage to drag our selves out of bed the breakfast was wonderful. Home made breads and a great variety of goodies to choose from. The full English, or something a little more healthier. Salmon, fresh melon, cereals, yogurts, stewed fruits, great jams and marmalade.

We really hope they make a go of it so we can go back next year.

Highly recommended.
