Five minute walk to Looe by the river. Stunning views, great location. The hotel is a lovely period property with nice gardens with enclosed pool. The rooms are nicely presented with comfortable beds and pleasant en-suites. Breakfast was very nice using locally sourced products. The staff are very professional but also friendly and helpful. I stayed with my adult son. He had very nice single and I stayed in a double room. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation and will return.

My husband and I stayed at Barlcay House for 5 nights. We stayed in room 4 which had a great view of the river. We had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant one of the nights, the food was amazing and there was plenty from the menu to choose from! We thoroughly enjoyed the full cornish breakfast each morning!!
I would have to say the best thing about Barclay House is the service. All of the staff made us feel so welcome and are very helpful in regards to directions and things to do in the area.
I would 100% recommend Barclay House to friends and family. We will definitely be visiting again!

Location:Just on the edge of Looe with a pleasant walk into town by river(down steepish hill)
Property:Lovely setting with great views over river valley Attractive period property which has been tastefully modernised inside.
Service: Warm and friendly and very professional - totally excellent
Food: Excellent quality and local produce for dinner and breakfast and a lovely dining room overlooking valley. Wide wine list and not overpriced.
Rooms: Choose carefully as many different types. We had partial view and whirlpool bath great but skylight with no blind meant some light am. Comfortable and attractive room.
Facilities: Small but nice outside pool and pretty garden/terrace. Bar area great although needs seating review as different heights of chairs all together.
Overall: Loved it and hope to go back as superb food and staff that made you feel so welcome

It was a little tricky getting here, as the road leading to the hotel had been closed, there is a diversion but it is massive (not the fault of the hotel at all, just something to be aware of). It is walkable from the centre of Looe, but there is a steep hill and as it was raining, we decided to drive. Now, on to the review....We were welcomed at the door by a gentlemen who took our coats, and showed us to our table. We have to say, the hospitality was fab, staff we very warm, had a good knowledge of the menu and we helpful in making suggestions and recommendations. The menu was very seafood heavy (obviously), but for people like me who are not keen on seafood, there were other options. We enjoyed a fantastic meal, the food was very fresh, presentation was brilliant and the portion sizes were good. The decor was lovely and I'm sure the view from the window seat that we had would have been fantastic, if it hadn't been raining. The only teeny issue (and I am picking) was that we had quite a wait in between our starters and main meals. This wasn't a problem as we weren't in a rush and still had a fabulous evening, but I wouldn't have thought delays were the norm. On the up side, when I booked, they asked if the meal was for an specific occasion, I stated we were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. I had totally forgotten about this question (thinking they were just being friendly) until they brought our desserts which had "Happy Anniversary" piped around the edge of the plates in chocolate. A thoughtful, personal touch- thank you. Would happily recommend the restaurant to anyone, and if we are in Looe again, we will be looking to both eat and stay at Barclay House.

We got married at Barclay House on 27th March 2013. Not only was the venue beautiful and incredibly good value for money, but the food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We had nothing but positive comments from our wedding guests as well. We would recommend Barclay to anyone, whether for holiday or as wedding venue, and I'm hoping we will be able to get back there for our anniversary (that's forward planning!). Can I also just mention the breakfasts? Fabulous! I can't think of a bad thing to say about the place! Thank you to everyone at Barclay!

We arrived 2nd April to be greeted by the Lovely Luca, and shown to our room No 4 which has excellent view of the estury. I could echo any of the glowing reviews previous to mine but it would be a wast of time. This Hotel is run so well by Graham,Richard Dani Luca Arron in fact all the staff were exceptional as were the food, well everything try it you wont be sorry.

A lovely setting, overlooking the river. Easy ten minute walk into Looe. Very comfortable without being OTT - very clean, crisp bedline, soft towels, range of teas and coffees in the room. Delicious food, both breaksfast and dinner. Comfortable and cosy lounge and bar areas. Very friendly service from all staff. The gardens look lovely - would love to visit again in the summer.

Room Tip: our room was quite small, but very comfortable indeed.
