We booked this place because of the description and pictures on website. Sadly when we arrived we we told that the Bar/Restaurant was no longer open and that we could go to the hotel up the road if we wanted a meal or drink. Room was lovely but we decided not to stay and asked for a refund of deposit paid and was told to claim off the Booking Agent and as we had not cancelled within 48 hrs of arrival we would not get a refund. As we knew nothing of the reduced facilities before we arrived how could we cancel beforehand. Still waiting for refund.

When we arrived we were given a friendly greeting and shown to our room. We were very pleasantly surprised by the high standard of furnishing and decoration, the view out to sea was absolutely stunning. The breakfast made sure that we didn't need to eat until the evening and the owners / staff were very friendly. There is a really good seafood restaurant about 100 yards away (Sea Kitchen) so you don't really need to go far to enjoy excellent sea food. Anyone who has visited Looe will know that parking can be a problem but not at Tom Sawyers as there is ample allocated parking adjacent to the rooms. We will definitely be returning.

We were very pleased with our room :D! The view from our room was amazing and the room was very clean, tidy and well furnished.

The breakfast was lovely and the hosts were always happy to help with anything.

My husband and I have just returned from a break at Tom Sawyers B&B in Looe, located directly across the road from the sea. We initially booked for one night but were so pleased with our room, we extended our stay. Our room was clean, very nicely furnished and exceeded our expectation of a 3* Each room is allocated a parking space. In the past we have had to park our car a long way from our hotel or B&B. A parking space right outside our door was a real unexpected bonus. Very nice breakfast each morning. Ken and Tracey gave us such a warm welcome and we look forward to returning later in the year.

Arrived after 4 1/2 hour journey to find a building site instead of the bar and restaurant it used to be. Booked 4 nights, 6 months in advance. Someone could have at least had decency to let us know that major refurbishment was being carried out? They had our contact details for 6 months!. We had family due to meet us there for a drink and meal, so had to quickly rearrange that as well. Absolutely outrageous. At least the Hotel next door could provide rooms for the 4 nights and at a cheaper rate!. Will never ever go back there again.

Room Tip: Go next door to the Hannafore Hotel. They clearly know what customer service means.

Stayed here for 3nts with my In-Laws from Boxing day....

My husband and i had a lovely split level room just round the corner from the Tavern which was beautifully furnished with a sea view from the front door. It felt more like a little cottage than a room. Only negative for me was that there was no curtain at the door window and the street light shone through at night.....

My In-Laws had a room located nearer the sea front which was again beautifully furnished, however the bathroom was in need of an update and you had to walk through a smelly corridor which led to some private flats in order to access the front door. However I know the owner has plans to change this.....

The breakfast was pretty standard for a B&B, we were a bit disappointed that we had to make our own toast and we had to eat in the Tavern bar but it was explained to us that the restaurant was being changed into another bedroom......

The owner informed us that the Tavern is closing in January in order to turn the premise into B&B accommodation only.
I think this is an excellent idea as the location is beautiful right on the sea front with free parking.
The owner and his wife are very friendly and have got lovely taste going by the room we stayed in. I'm sure they will make an excellent job transforming it...

We look forward to staying here again if we return to Looe and seeing the wonderful transformation....

We stayed in a caravan park a few minutes away from here so thought we would try it out for lunch. Nice enough food but quite pricey for some things. Very quiet atmosphere. Only one young girl serving and she kept watching our every move so felt slightly awkward. An ok experience but certainly won't rush back.
