We stayed here for a week at the beginning of September 2013. The apartment was lovely with great views over the river from the balcony. The bedding and towels were good quality and fresh towels were provided every day which is very unusual for self catering accomodation. Bins were emptied every day and toilet rolls renewed - I dont think we have ever had this in self catering accomodation before. We didn't use the hotel facilities apart from a late drink in the bar as we like the freedom of self catering but the restarant looked really nice and seemed popular. Looe itself is a lovely place, wonderful beach, nice places to eat and lots of quirky shops. We went to St Ives last year and would rate Looe as a much better place to go. Friendly people too. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to Looe.
The only drawback was the hotel/apartment is on a steep hill and quite a climb with your luggage from the road to the entrance up some steps and a ramp. We managed fine and I am sure staff would have helped if we had struggled as they were very friendly. Also, being on a hill meant the views were great so the climb was worth it !

Room Tip: We had apartment 2. Lovely apartment with great views from balcony. I think all apartments would hav...

My wife and I call into the Rivercroft for an evening meal whilst staying in Looe. The menu choice isn't overly large, but the staple favourites are there and they do offer regular offers. We went for the two rump steaks to include a drink. The service was pretty good considering they were busy. We sat in the lounge area, which was less busy than the hotel bar. Our steaks were cooked as we requested, however we both found them to be a little fatty. However, that didn't distract from what was a generally nice and good value meal.

As we booked at the last minute, the hotel were very helpful and were able to fit us into a family room for one night then move us into a lovely apartment for the rest of our stay. The breakfasts are very good and the position of the hotel is perfect for a holiday in the centre of Looe. We would very much recommend it. Hope to go back soon!

We were told to go here for this wonderful steak meal, gave it a try. The steak was perfectly cooked but was very chewy so spat most of it out. This was obviously a cheap cut of meat instead of rump as advertised. Seems unfair you can only have a free pint with the meal as most ladies enjoy a glass of wine with their food. As I dont drink pints I had to pay for my wine. I noticed the staff seemed more interested in the locals at the bar and we were'nt even asked had if everything was allright with the food which was most annoying. I shall not be returning here again and will not be recommending this restaurant to any of my friends at Tregoad campsite where we own a caravan.

We stayed in a family apt for a week. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good, amazing fillet steaks! great tasting specials too. Great breakfast selection. We had 2 apt's between us, 3 adults, 3 children, 1 toddler & a baby. We were very well looked after and would return again.

Room Tip: Room 1, family apt with twin room & large comfy sofa bed. Room 2, family apt with double bed &am...

We didn't stay here but went into the hotel after seeing it's special meal offer on the board. It was £8.25 for steak, homemade chips, peas, mushrooms and onion rings. On a Friday and Saturday you had a free pint of larger, cider or beer included in that price. We didn't know what to expect but after climbing the steep path upto the hotel we were rewarded with amazing views of the river and greeted by friendly staff. We were a group of four adults and two children. All orders were cooked to our liking and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we even had dessert which was yummy! I would highly recommend this hotel and will return when we visit Looe in the future.

We went on a last minute trip to Looe on a Saturday evening. I have always wanted to stay in one of these hotels along the front. So we popped in and were lucky enough to get the one double superior room. The room (number 3) was lovely and recently refurbished to a good clean contemporary standard. The view through the huge windows to the river was amazing.
If I was having to find problems it would be the shower was annoying, you had to turn it to freezing before you could find your temperature. The TV would take around 5 mins to change each channel. The room was very clean but perhaps needed a dusting over the tv and other furniture. Otherwise it was a lovely room.
We sat out on the front of the hotel and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. The staff were all nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend and will stay their again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front with the view get very hot in the summer
