The Mrs and I spent a long weekend at the Rivercroft and were very happy with our stay...the hotel is very well situated with great views and near the town centre. Rooms are basic but have all that is needed especially a view, comfort and cleanliness. The bar is great and drinking cheap Stella in the sunshine (the hotel faces west) during Happy Hour whilst overlooking the East and West Looe rivers' junction was lovely.
As for the rest, the staff were friendly and the breakfasts well cooked and delicious, with a good choice of drinks, cereals, fruit and cooked food. Parking is by means of a large public car park across the river 5 mins walk away as the nearby roadside parking is limited to one hour only. However the cost of £5.20 per 24 hours is fully refunded at check-out. I understand that during high season permits are available though.
So all in all, highly recommended by us, and great value. If you want pizazz like chrome and underfloor lighting then look elsewhere, and spend much more.

Room Tip: Go for upstairs and facing the river with a balcony.

We went as a large family, 3 adults & 3 children. We booked a twin & double apartment, with sofa beds in living area. Which were very comfortable. Basic but clean. The food is brilliant value and very good. There is a happy hour, which is 5-7pm! With cheaper drinks. A lovely view over the river from a large balcony joining both rooms. But separated by a rail fence. same views from pub & separate restaurant. Short walk to shops, harbour (for crabbing) & beach. Great location.

A warm welcome and the food at the restaurant overlooking the harbour was gorgeous.

Steep stairs and room was basic, but had a nice view. Clean and with tea and coffee facilities. Bed was comfortable. Shower didn't work which was disappointing. Breakfast was good.

Rooms need updating - wish I could charge £90 a night for someone to sleep in my loft room for the night without a shower in the morning, BUT the food was the redeeming feature and was lovely all round.

I have been meaning to write a review on the Rivercroft for ages now. Our last visit was in August although we have visited many times before. We normally have a few days in winter when Looe is quieter. We generally stay in one of the apartments which are extremely comfortable and offer great views over the river. The restaurant and bar areas are always very popular with the locals, summer and winter particularly at weekends. This says it all really. A steak special with a free drink is on offer for under £10. It's excellent value but we tend to pay a bit more for the better cuts of meat such as their fillet steaks which are great. In short the Rivercroft is a well run, friendly, family run hotel that people return to again and again.

Had a fantastic steak meal deal and thoroughly enjoyed it. Generous portion of quality and tasty meat, delicious onion rings and the best chips in Looe. All that and a free drink too!
Add in friendly and welcoming staff, great views from the restaurant and a two-hour 'happy hour' and this is a top place to visit. Definitely will return.
