Recommend that you avoid this place - the seafood platter was the worst I've ever had and consisted of just-defrosted prawns, some fried prawns in-shell, more prawns (pan fried) sitting on top of battered fish (so making it soggy) and smoked salmon (clearly just out of another packet).
The manager was busy standing on the bartop doing noisy DIY throughout our lunch. We had to leave after the malodorous garbage truck (see photo) had been parked outside for 15 minutes (not that the manager seemed either apologetic or even bothered).

We chose this eatery based on the TA reviews and have to say we didn't quite get the hype.
It is the ground floor of a hotel and whilst nicely furbished indoors, the outdoor 'eating area' is basically a pavement. Added to that it is at road level directly in front of the hotel car park so the views are lost unless you stand up.
The food was ok, generous portions and well presented but not outstanding or special enough for us to rave about it. One criticism that I would like to offer is that staff appear too busy serving 'friends/locals' to ensure that they deliver good service to all, which does influence the whole eating experience in terms of being good or not so good.
We felt like gatecrashers at a private party at times.
Think we may try it again for a lunch maybe, but there are nicer places to eat dinner in Looe.
I understand from the waiter that the owner of this establishment dislikes TA reviews (as I mentioned we had chosen the restaurant because of its good reviews,) and dismisses us reviewers as generally 'bulls***ers'. One wonders why?

Booked to have dinner on a recent trip, looking forward to the seafood extravaganza and having a great dinner. Upon arriving and being shown our table we asked if we could eat outside, as nice view and much cooler,!! This seemed a big ask for the staff, and when I said it was due to the kids being hot, the male waiter merely said try being us!! Was totally shocked, and I have run restaurants for 10 years, and not 40 cover sites with 20 outside, but 100 in and 100 outside full table service sites, and I would never speak to a customer in such a way. We then got told that unless you asks to sit outside when you book you can only have a patio menu, and limited service!! Which is fine IF we had been told when we booked. We asked if the could overlook this but the waiter seemed dubious and went to ask, when he wasn't back in 10 mins we left. Shame as food is supposed to be good, but customer service was lacking and really poor relations.

We stopped at the Sea Kitchen after a hot day out and were very happy to sit outside for a while with a cold drink watching the yachts sailing before eating. We ate indoors where we still had a sea view, the interior is painted in cool colours which gave it a fresh, clean atmosphere. The staff were most helpful and very happy to bring food at our pace which made for a very relaxing meal. There seemed to be a good atmosphere between all the staff. The food was beautifully cooked, we had seafood linguine which was delicious, especially the scallops. The portions were generous. We would be happy to eat there next time we were are Looe.
