We decided to return to this hotel this October after a brilliant holiday there last year.
We were not dissapointed, even the weather was good!

We stayed in our favourite room 6 and made sure we had the half board option as the standard of the food is superb!! Ross is a fantastic chef and I enjoyed the fish variety caught that day in Looe and cooked to perfection the same night. The home made bread is fantastic as well.

Heather was attentive and helpful as ever and suggested a few places we should visit.

I would recommend visiting Boscastle, Padstow, Tavistock and Fowey.

We had such a good rest that we have booked again for next year!!!

Room Tip: Outside rooms have wonderful view and room 6 is fab.

Me, my wife and my child stayed for a family wedding and the service was wonderful. You can tell by every single detail they enjoy their job. Well done team!

Room Tip: The rooms where the garden side are slightly nicer.

OK, the title is a bit tongue in cheek especially as the weather was far from ideal on our short trip to Cornwall. However our hosts (Hazel and Ross) at the Trelaske hotel gave us a very warm welcome and service which made us forget the weather. The hotel is located in it's own grounds well away from the main road therefore quiet and the excellent rooms we had gave us some marvellous views over the Cornish countryside once the skies cleared in the evening. The hotel has an AA rosette for quality of food and I'm sure Michelin would rate it highly (we live in France). The breakfasts are certainly 5-star and the evening meal (mini fish and chips, (the fish cooked tempura style and in non-gluten batter for one of our group), turbot and sea bass with a cauliflower couscous and delicious vegetables including potatoes with Cornish mellanack, and finally pears in mulled wine and vanilla ice cream) would have stood any comparison (bravo Ross). The wine list produced an excellent white Côte du Rhone to accompany the fish and a Monbazillac for the dessert. We finished with coffee and Armagnac in front of the fire in the lounge.
We chose the hotel as a base for a trip to the Eden project and thoroughly enjoyed both. Hazel advised us to go via the Bodinnick ferry and Fowey, both well worth it and on the way back we visited Charlestown near St Austell.
All in all it was a short stay but sweet and we would certainly return. Our thanks to Hazel and Ross, keep up the good work.

I chose the Trelaske Hotel for our honeymoon based on the reviews on Trip Advisor, and it was better than we could have imagined. We stayed in room 6, one of the garden bedrooms for 5 nights. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, spotless and had the most beautiful views out over the countryside. It was so quiet and peaceful, and the hotel gardens are a lovely setting.

The food was absolutely amazing, if you stay here you must have dinner! The food is all locally produced, with freshly caught fish and vegetables from the hotel's own garden. It was excellently presented and some of the best food we have ever eaten. The quality of every single dish we tried was fantastic and I loved the special touches like the different freshly baked breads with dinner and the homemade muesli for breakfast.

Hazel was very welcoming and made us feel at home, and helped to recommend places for us to visit and directions. The hotel has a very friendly atmosphere and in November the bar area with comfortable sofas and chairs by the fire was lovely.

Once we have recovered from eating so much good food we will have to decide when we are going to return to Trelaske.

This is really a great hotel. It really should be more than a 3 star but Hazel advised that they can't be rated higher as they have to have amenities such as a lift or leisure facilities which this hotel doesn't need. The hotel and rooms were spotless and Hazel was willing to help in anyway that she could to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice quite stay away from the crowds.

Room Tip: We took our little dog with us so hazel put us in a Doggie room. You would not know any animals had...
