We discovered Trelaske a couple of years back through friends who've been going there for years and we've been going back regularly since. It's a great place to spend a few days away from the rat-race in a beautiful Cornish location - always a warm welcome and wonderful hospitality from Hazel and her team, excellent food both morning and evening, and a great location with sweeping views across the counrtyside. We're made to feel so welcome there, it's become something of a home from home and we always look forward to returning. Looe and Polperro are both just down the road and are great places to spend days out. The rest of cornwall is just a short drive away..... perfect!

Room Tip: Room 6 is great.

Hazel and Ross have catered for our family annual party for 5 years now. Some of our guest have stayed over and been extremly please with the facilites. Trelaske is very eco friendly which reflects in rooms and food. They are also one of a few places that are dog friendly too. For the last 5 years our party numbers have been as low as 14 and highest to 40 odd and the food each visit has never disappointed. The vegetables are either grown on site or sourced locally as is the meat and fish and the prices are so reasonable. We usually book a lunch time and sit down for 1pm, 3 courses with coffee and cake to end. The bar is open all the time and we tend to leave the hotel by about 5pm. This year Hazel made tea for those who wanted it and we sat in the gardens in brilliant sunshine. We had 3 lads under 15 in our party of 27 and they were able to kick a football in the field to the side of the hotel completly safe. Trelaske is a very friendly, relaxed hotel, off high standards at a reasonable price. A wonderfull venue for any special occasion wedding, anniversary, birthday party.

As it was our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, we wanted somewhere special to stay. We found the Trelaske Hotel on the internet and after seeing the pictures and reading the details decided it was just what we were looking for and were not disappointed. Hazel was there to meet us on arrival and showed us to our room which was located in the annex a stones throw from the main building. The room was clean and bright with far reaching views over the garden and surrounding countryside from the balcony. The annex must have excellent insulation because if we had not met the other guests during our stay we would have sworn we had the building to ourselves. The location of the Hotel means that there are walks into Looe and Polperro for those who did not want to drive but also had access to the major routes to the rest of Cornwall. As to the food and the service! Hazel attended to all our 'front of house' needs, including a pot of tea on arrival, while Ross produced the finest food you could ever wish to see and eat. Ross also tended the garden, with its Poly Tunnels, growing the fruit and vegetables used in the kitchen along with other locally sourced ingredients. He is also an expert at mowing the extensive lawns. If you want a comfortable relaxing holiday you will not find a better hotel in the Cornwall.

We arrived with out friends and our black labrador and right from the start we were made most welcome. Our room was a doggy friendly one in the annex which is just a stones throw away from the main hotel where our friends stayed. It was clean, bright and very airy with plenty of space for the three of us. Once we had unpacked Hazel, the owner, offered us a pot of tea and then took time out to explain the area and the different walks from the hotel. In the evening we joined our friends in the bar which was well furnished and decorated before going through for dinner. The food was excellent which was all sourced localy or grown by the owners. A superb hotel well situated 2 miles from Looe with fine views from their grounds that dogs are allowed to run in.

Room Tip: If taking a dog room 7 is great with big patio doors that open into the grounds.

We found the Trelaske Hotel on the internet & after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor we decided to give it a try. We were certainly not disappointed.
Hazel's welcome was very warm & friendly, making us feel immediately at home. Our room was exceptionally comfortable with all those little touches that make a place special. The large, ensuite room, had everything one could want; facilities for making hot drinks (not just tea & coffee!) flat screen TV with DVD, all the necessary toiletry items, etc, etc.
The wood burning fires & comfortable furnishings make the guest lounges great places to enjoy a pre dinner drink. The dinner menu is not lengthy, normally four starters & four main courses to choose from, using all locally sourced or home grown ingredients that cater for all tastes. Ross's cooking (he does it all!) has to be experienced to be appreciated. The care & presentation of each dish is superb & the flavours, incredible. The breakfasts are equally excellent.
During our professional careers we have eaten at some of the best restaurants & stayed at some of the very best hotels worldwide; many of them do not achieve the exceptional customer service standards & attention to personal detail that Hazel & Ross provide. We sincerely believe that a Michelin star would not go amiss at the Trelaske hotel. We will definitely return to the Trelaske Hotel to enjoy all that we have previously mentioned, the peace & beauty of its location & listen to the birdsong.

Fifth visit. Running out of superlatives for this fantastic Hotel.
It cannot be improved on as everything is all you would require in comfort, service and magnificent food.
Hazel and Ross are just amazing at their respective jobs - Hazel attentive to your every need and Ross in the background cooking Michelin Star food. Have always loved the way ingredients are either home grown or locally sourced, always as fresh as possible.
Everyone is made to feel very welcome.
Roll on our sixth visit!!

Room Tip: All fabulous, garden rooms particularly great

Just returned from a weekend at the Trelaske Hotel, when we arrived after a long drive we were welcomed by Hazel who is a really warm and friendly person. The room we had was great, very clean and the detail of the decor is excellent. We never had the chance of a evening meal but if it is as good as the breakfast I would suggest staying in to eat. We will most definitely go to the hotel again and would highly recommend it for couples or families.
