My partner and I decided to walk from Penzance to mouse hole and was recommended the old coastguard as a place to stop for a bite to eat. By the time we arrived we both fancied a cream tea. The service was quick and efficient and staff were polite and friendly. The cream tea arrived well-presented each on small wooden boards. The jam was presented in mini jars for each of us and was nice and cold. The scones were a good size accompanied by a very generous pot of cream each (which I personally like). The cream tea was delicious. The scones were fresh and tasty and not at all dry. The jam was equally tasty and most definately was home made.
I would definately recommend a stop here for a cream tea. The atmosphere of the place is pleasant without being overbearing. There are plenty of comfy chairs and sofas with beautiful views out to the gardens and coast. We will be back at some point for another cream tea or maybe next time try something off of the lunch or dinner menu!
