Couldn't wish for a better location for lunch. Sat outside in the sunshine in the lovely lawned garden overlooking the sea. Chose the prix fixe two course lunch option. We chose the fish stew as the main course. Plus one asparagus starter and one sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The food was delicious but the service was very slow. We had parked in the adjacent public car park for two hours. Had to keep chivvying because we were worried about overstaying!

We enjoyed a lovely short stay at the Old Coast Guard and enjoyed our gracious room with a view and both dinner and breakfast in their dining room. We had a very good dining experience with excellent food and service. The location of the hotel is excellent for walking into Mousehole which is very quaint and scenic. We would recommend this small hotel and hope to return ourselves.

Booked a table here but was warm enough to get a table on the stunning terrace looking out over the bay. Service was leisurely but we liked that it wasn't rushed and that there was a decent interval between courses. We had set menu with two courses for £19.50 which was great value. We both had the duck liver pate and fish stew and both were very good. Inside is nicely done with good spacing between the tables and real candles to create atmosphere. Staff were friendly and kind. Saw another guest trip on the terrace with two drinks and they replaced them for free.

We ate here with our daughter and her boyfriend. The menu was exciting and the food was absolutely delicious and everyone in our party enjoyed all their dishes. Sadly the very slow service lets this restaurant down. It took ages for somebody to come and take our order initially and although we really wanted to sample the desserts which looked delicious, by the time anyone came to take the order it was too late, so we decided not to. The staff were very pleasant but seemed rushed off their feet.

Sunday lunch with our elderly parents.
Disappointed we had to ask for menus after being sat at our table for at least ten minutes.
Drinks came quite quickly but both courses seemed like ages.
Having said that when it came it was stunning!
Lovely location and very friendly staff.
I would return.
