“Didn't disappoint”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2014 via mobile

Have wanted to try this restaurant for ages, didn't disappoint. Waitresses lovely, food excellent, courtyard a gem when the sun is shining. Would definitely recommend to any one. The table behind us ordered four meals to share, the shrimp, crab, goujons and sardines and were oohing and ahhing for England ( or should I say Cornwall! )

“Lovely lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

We visited this contemporary restaurant for lunch after walking the coastal walk from lamorna to mousehole, it was very welcoming with friendly staff. The menu options made it hard to decide what to pick! We opted for the crab linguine, and the dressed crab with samphire salad and caper mayonnaise. It wasn't the cheapest place to eat but it was worth it!

“Nice food, shame about the service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

We booked a table at 2 Fore street after hearing good things about it, we are local and are always looking for new places to eat. When we arrived instead of being greeted we had to walk between everybody eating their meals which was a little uncomfortable. Our table wasn't ready so we had no choice but to go to the pub for a drink, the waitress wasn't even sorry. When we came back we were seated, and had a lovely waiter who was very attentive. There was however a female member of staff who either didn't want to really be there or had had a really bad day. Our plates were cleared from the table with not a word from her. When we had finished our main meals she took our plates, again without asking if the meal was ok? Whether we would like to see a dessert menu, nothing! We were left wondering what was going to happen next when she dropped the dessert menu on the table again saying nothing. We felt very uncomfortable, almost like we weren't good enough to be eating there. The treatment of customers from one table to another by this lady was shocking. The tables are so close together that I could overhear the next table receiving items on the house. That made us feel really good! The food was lovely but unfortunately really let down by the service, I certainly won't be recommending to my friends. Local trade should be looked after, we are, after all, your bread and butter in the winter months.

We were really disappointed to read your review and take all comments seriously positive and negative with regards to every element of our business. Obviously it is very difficult for me to deal with your comments after the event and also not knowing which member of staff it could have been. We would have liked to have been able to have dealt with this at the time and if we are not at the restaurant ( Joe in the kitchen or myself out the front) we will always make our selves available to deal with any issues. Please accept our apology and hopefully you will return.

We had no table booked on Sat night but the staff managed to squeeze us in for a fabulous dinner on the last night in Mousehole. The wine recommendation and food was superb as was the service

“Yummy late lunch in a pretty garden setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014

My husband and I left the rest of the family on the beach for a late lunch (we'd missed the pasty run :-( !! ) and chanced on 2 Fore Street where the menu looked appetising. We sat in the garden and enjoyed fresh grilled local sardines with beetroot relish and french toast (him) and baked goats cheese with french toast and chilli jam (me) plus coffee and beers. I was sorry I'd missed the baked Taleggio as its one of my favourite cheeses but the goats cheese was scrummy and enjoyable substitute. The rest of the menu looked very good and the wine list offered some seriously good glugging opportunities, we were sorry we weren't staying locally enough to be able to try something out. We will definitely go back next time we're in Mousehole.
