We were staying in Paul so took a walk down to mousehole for the day. We had our dog so headed to the ship inn where dogs were welcome. They have a lovely sun terrace and we met some lovely people up there and our dog Monty played with a quality dog called Wilf. The pub is very popular and the staff are excellent, giving the dogs water and treats. Great atmosphere and lovely staff - great pub!

We were visiting Mousehole for the day and decided to eat at The Ship Inn.
The time was 1pm and the premises was buzzing but not as many in there for a lunchtime that I would have expected.
The bar area was busy but most tables were empty.
We ordered two fish pies.
Sorry to say that was a mistake, most of the fish pie was potato and I found just two small pieces of fish at the bottom of the pie a pink piece and a white piece ?
The dish came with a mixed variety of lettuce which was dry and straight out of a pre packed bag from somewhere like Tesco’s.
In reality it was the most unimaginative plate of fish pie we have eaten for a long time, boring, dry and lacking in fish.

The best bit about that lunch was the staff they were friendly and served us quickly, but it wasn’t a good fish pie.

We ate here 4 times during our week visit to Moushole. We were instanly made very welcome and cannot recommend it enough, excellent food and good value for money, but what stood out the most was the warmth and friendliness of all the staff! Can't wait to visit again soon!

We returned to Mousehole after about 6 years and revisited The Ship. It’s a great pub with a lovely dining room overlooking the harbour. Lovely fresh food, mussels to die for! Great quick efficient service.
Well done- we’ll return next to time we are in Cornwall!
