We booked a special off-season three night stay including breakfast and evening meal for £79 per person. That's less than £20 each per day, and you could easily spend more than that on just the breakfast and dinner elsewhere.
I would normally expect a hotel to be at least as clean and tidy as my own home and sadly the Pentire didn't entirely meet my expectations in that respect. The public reception rooms are fine and have evidently been renovated recently, but upstairs the hotel looks rather tired. Our room was quite shabby and worn, dated in appearance and fittings, with the en-suite shower room being particularly below par--though the shower itself was OK. That said, the room was basically clean and warm and we had a good view over Fistral Beach which went a long way to making up for the shortcomings.
Likewise the meals were not gourmet fare but there was a good choice, and everything we had was tasty and obviously prepared with some care. Service was consistently friendly and attentive.
The hotel has free wireless internet access throughout. There is a good sized pool and leisure area and they lay on entertainment, holiday camp style, most evenings, not something that we go in for, but it might be just the sort of thing you want!
All in all, it was excellent value for what it cost.

Stayed at this hotel on a 3 day mini break on a half baord basis. Room overlooking beach. Hotel is basic but as it is billed as a 2* you need not go there expecting to be more. All areas were very clean and comfortable. Good swimming pool, good basic food, nice helpful staff, flat screen T.V.and coffe making facilities in room and at a great price so excellent value all round. Also ideally placed for touring Cornwall.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay in the newquay area. We were extremely pleased with the friendly welcome and hospitality we received. The hotel rooms were spotless and the food was so plentiful i nearly had food fright - It was well worth every penny. The owners were very friendly and the entertainment was also good. My husband and brother in law used the pool and table tennis facilites and thoroughly enjoyed - I will definately go back and stay there without question. Well done to the Pentire keep up the good work xxx Nikki and Johnny Swansea xx

Huge thnx to manager Amanda for going above and beyond in helping me get back on the road. I am walking the entire coast of UK and by far the best experience of my life I will be back again even if I have to sleep in the garden.

We had a 3 night stay. The hotel was super, the staff were very friendly and cheerful , had a great atmosphere. We had a refurbished room which was very clean and roomy. Food was great, plenty to choose from. Swimming pool was a great bonus! We will definately go back. Highly reccommend.
