I love Holywell Bay for it's unspoilt views and surounding area. It's a National Trust beach and in a conservation area and if you are lucky you may get to see filming of the latest Poldark. The beach has life Guards and decent surf. There is quite a large area of sand. so sun bathing is good. There is also a little stream that runs down the length of the beach which is ideal if you have small children that can play in the stream. There is a food vehicle that serves pasties ice creams and drinks, there is a toilet off the beach for those in need. There is also a pub at the edge of the beach too

The beach was excellent for all the family and is dog friendly all year. Exploring the dunes can be fun and there is a cafe at the beach. The biggest downside was the abuse we got from the lady at the carpark who accused me of being a cheapskate for having a Scottish National Trust card. My partner had a English N.T. card and was told the her card was a proper one. I do not expect this type of, or any, abuse from members of the N.T. Staff. Having never had any problems before I can only assume this lady was ignorant in the ways of dealing with the public and requires retraining.

Holywell Bay is Holywell Bay. Its a few bays away from Newquay, being nearer to Perranporth. Basic geography is utterly wrong on trip advisor.

We spent a warm sunny day on this beach, sunning, swimming and bodyboarding. A great time was had by all. Interesting caves to explore and lovely clear water.
