My wife and I stayed at Gratton Lodge for one week at the end of May. We stayed in one of the garden rooms. The room was clean and fresh and the bed was comfortable with ample room for us both. The bathroom was modern and clean and both the room and the bathroom where cleaned daily.
The gardens and outdoor swimming pool were both made available for guests to use and makes a lovely place to relax in the sunshine and enjoy a drink from the honesty bar. The use of a conservatory and the lounge with TV are also available for the days when its not as warm to sit outside.
Sharon and Geoff and are lovely hosts and make you welcome the minute that you arrive. They are on hand for any requests throughout the day should you need anything. Crumble their dog was also very friendly should you get the pleasure to see him.
The breakfast room provides your breakfast needs including a selection of cereals, fresh juices etc. We would recommend Geoff's Full English to start your day off on the right foot.

The location is great and only a few minutes walk from the town centre. This give a peaceful retreat from the vibrant atmosphere to be found in the town. Be aware this is a major place for young people at the weekend. Lots of groups of party goers on stag/hen nights. The week however is very quite and has a family atmosphere.

The area boasts some lovely beaches and coastal views. Eating out, consists of a variety of local pub restaurants, take aways and formal dinning. The Fort Inn is recommended for a good selection of reasonable priced meals and drinks and very helpful staff. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186239-d2100330-Reviews-Fort_Inn-Newquay_Cornwall_England.html
If you want something a bit more up market then try the Lewinnick Lodge on the Pentire headland. Stunning views and excellent food. Caution book early as it gets very busy. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186239-d1205352-Reviews-Lewinnick_Lodge-Newquay_Cornwall_England.html

Overall a good base to explore the rest of Cornwall and only about and hour from most places like St Ives and Falmouth. We would go back again when re-visiting the area.

Stayed here for a four night break to relax and see the sights of Cornwall. The owner was really friendly on arrival and showed us to a lovely top floor room which over looked the beautiful gardens and pool.

We'd booked a double room and it was a really good size and even had an extra single bed and settee. It was clean, fresh and the decor was modern. The double bed was comfortable and we slept really well. Loud seagulls woke us early in the morning but you'd probably get that anywhere in Newquay!!

The location is great - a five/ten minute walk into town to all the shops/nightlife and beach down a steepish hill. The only downside is the walk back uphill! The weather was great when we were here so we ventured out to the pool garden for an hour one afternoon and had a lovely dip in the large-ish clean pool.

As we'd got married the weekend before, we took a bottle of champagne with us and without even asking, the owner left an ice bucket in the room with two champagne flutes which was a really nice touch!

Breakfast was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and was superbly cooked, fresh and arrived fairly quickly after ordering. The owner kept checking everything was ok and always offered more tea, coffee, toast etc. There was a large selection of cereals, fruit, fruit juice etc also.

We would definitely stay here again and was well worth the money spent.

Room Tip: Ask for Room 7 if possible!

Enjoyed stay, breakfast great ,but room we were in not as nice as expected . Looked at website photographs before booking , not a 4 star ad they advertise. Could do with a revamp in the room we stayed in.

My partner and I recently stayed for two nights in this perfect b&b and it was fantastic! The owners were lovely and had the most adorable dog ever. Our room, which was separate from the house, was a very generous size, very clean and had the most comfortable bed I think we have ever slept on. The b&b is in an excellent location, right between newquay town centre and fistral beach (which is just amazing). The breakfast was delicious, cooked to order with a good choice of food. The free WiFi worked fine and was an added bonus! We would definitely stay here again.

Honestly.. Some people just love to moan on here. They must love the power trip! Gratton Lodge is lovely. The rooms do NOT smell damp i can say that as we've stayed many times. The owners practically bend over backwards to do anything for you. We are a family of 5 and my husband and i find it difficult to peel the children out of the garden to go to the beach! There is a fantastic trampoline and CLEAN pool, the views are fabulous. The beach is only a 5 minute walk which is a relief after a long day on the beach. We've tried many b&b's in Newquay and will never go anywhere else now.

i came across this hotel and it looked really nice i phoned to ask a few questions as i was taking my elderly father who tends to wander during the night, they told us about their garden rooms which sounded ideal, so i took a chance and booked, couldnt have been a better choice, place was clean, breakfast fantastic and great pool and lovely gardens, Sharon & Geoff very friendly and didnt mind my father roaming the garden collecting apples, would def. return here

We have been going to Cornwall since 1976 & have stayed at many hotels & B&B's but this is by far the best we've found. The owners Sharon & Geoff are very friendly & helpful. The rooms are very nicely decorated & serviced daily. The full English breakfast is fabulous. We found the Gratton Lodge by accdent but we're so happy we did. We are staying there for the 7th time as I write (10 nights) this review from our room. We are not the only regular visitors as we continually meet other people here year on year. It's a great base to tour the Cornish coast & countryside or just a stay in Newquay. Without a shadow of doubt really excellent value for money.
