My wife and I have just spent another great week at the Marina and we had a great time. From the moment we arrived to the day of departure all the staff were pleasant, polite and very efficient. The room was clean, the food was good and the entertainment was excellent, especially the 'Pink Nite' in aid of cancer. The bar staff did a cracking dance routine.Well done to you all. Would we stay at the Marina again? Try and stop us!!!
p.s.The only downside was that the smoking area wasn't undercover.

Went with national Coaches. The staff, entertainment, food, service and cleanliness were excellent but the mattress was poor quality and the bedrooms and stairways were in need of updating. Our bathroom did not have a shower only a bath and the water from the above bathroom gave the effect of a shower as it came through the ceiling. The overall package was value for money but do think some time needs to be spent on making the bedrooms more comfortable.

Entertainment was first class and we couldn't get enough of it. The compare was excellent and everybody had a laugh and a giggle and he played music suitable for the guests. In our case motown and rock and roll.
The restaurant was 4 star and the service was special...... All the staff spoke good English.
On the first night we formed an orderly queue at the door and on the stroke of 7pm we were escorted to where we had to sit, and sat at the same table for every meal, which was good because we did not have to make any decisions and have any squabbles with other guests as to where we wanted to sit at each meal time.
We paid extra when booking to have a room with a sea view and it was georgeous. We loved the seagulls tapping on the window each morning at dawn begging for biscuits.
The room had been newly emulsioned and was very nice indeed. The bathroom was suprisingly large and within the lst hour we were able to master the workings of the shower. Even though the sofas and chairs in the lounge had some holes in them they were extremely comfortable and homely.
The hotel could do with a lift as the porters had to struggle to carry the cases up and down the stairs so both the day porter and night porter worked hard and well deserved the generous tip that we gave them. The night porter nearly passed out struggling with the cases to bring them down. My friend is an ex nurse and wanted to take his blood pressure when he appeared with our suit cases. God bless them both as we could not have managed our cases without them. For the sake of the porters I hope the hotel puts a lift in very soon.
We splashed out and went all inclusive and glad we did as the quality of the wine was superb, and we had more than we usually do.
To sum up the staff, food, entertainment, accommodation and wine were excellent, we enjoyed every minute never stopped laughing and had a really fabulous holiday. Thanks to all the staff and the hard working porters. We are definately planning to save up and return whenever possible.

Room Tip: Book early and well worth paying extra when booking for a room with a sea view. Some rooms face a ca...

travelled here with my dad on may 28th with national holidays, after finally getting here after 11 tortuous hours due to bank hol traffic, we were pleasantly surprised by hotel. check-in was quick. but was a bit disappointed by sergeant major attitude in dining room, as we were told where to sit and we had to keep same table over the hol and we had to sit with strangers. food was ok but nowt to write home about, the staff were quick and efficient. the free bar was excellent although the evening entertainment wasnt, unless you were over 65! Our rooms were value for money although the plumbing left a lot to be desired.and if you're a smoker, there was no shelter outside so when it was cold and rainy it wasnt pleasant!, but overall liked the hotel and its location was excellent. we didnt go on any of the inclusive trips as we went to the eden project which i would definitely recommend.

Stayed at the Marina on a National Holidays 5 day break, arrived at the hotel after 11 hours travelling and 84 tired people crammed into the reception area all wanting the keys. As staff was on days off we was greeted by one of the mangers 14 year old nephew who had trouble finding room keys. Once we managed to climb the stairs to the top floor as no lift, we entered our room.
The room was dirty, dated and not practical at all ! The floor sloped at a angle and the wallpaper was coming of the walls which appeared to be caused by damp. The bathroom was no bigger than a broom cupboard and consisted of the smallest shower ever. This you had to enter on a side ! The bathroom light had to be switched on at least 30 minutes before entering the bathroom as there was no window and the light was very dull. The shower was useless and had no power at all and all that came out was a dribble. The taps on the sink had to be turned a few times before any water came out, then the hot water tap never worked.
The lounge areas was also very dirty and very dated with a bad damp smell. The windows needed a good clean which was a shame as a fantastic view was not used to the advantage.
The restaurant service improved as the stay went on, our waitress was sometimes slow at the service and we had to wait up to 15 minutes sometimes before our plates was cleared and the next course ordered. The food left a lot to be desired as most of the time was processed , frozen and bland. It is the only restaurant I have been too and been served with two types of potatoes and only two vegetables of the same category. The portion sizes also lefted a lot to be desired as breakfast consisted of one small sausage, one rasher of bacon, a small spoonful of beans, half a tomato and a egg cooked how you wanted. So to fill up I would recommend also having some cereal, grapefruit or the porridge to start with, but leave the cold toast that is served.

Evening entertainment is ok if you like bingo, quizzes and the music from the 60's and 50's. The entertainment was repetitive every night, bingo, jokes, singing, quiz . The only thing different was the person hosting. The free bar was good and a ok choice but the cheaper spirits was offered and I found you needed at least two measures to even have a taste of what you was drinking.

The Coach driver was really good and very knowledge about the area. The trips was really enjoyable. The trips was to St Ives and Falmouth with a few extra thrown in like the trip the Cider Farm. The trip overall was enjoyable which was due to the trips and location. Would have been excellent if stayed in a better standard of hotel with better facilities.

We travelled with National, a very long journey from Yorkshire but the welcome and service we got on arrival was worth it.
Food was excellent, and the entertainment was very good except for the Wednesday night.
There is no doubt in my mind that I would visit the Marina again.
