We are repeat customers, which speaks for itself. Staff were helpful and friendly, they did what they said they would do. Accommodation is well cleaned, in fact our chalet appeared to have been updated since our previous visit. I cook, so we never use the restaurant. My only quibble is, as a cook, the equipment in the kitchen of the chalet is basic - the saucepans are of poor quality, which is short-sighted in a site which offers self-catering; there is no whisk and only one wooden spoon, the rest of the cooking spoons and ladles, etc are plastic, which seems to be a really bad idea. That said, overall standard of complex is perfectly OK considering what it costs and what its intended for. On-site facilities are good - Spa was good, as was swimming pool and equipment in the gym is great and the gym manager is excellent by way of being helpful and unobtrusive simultaneously. Atlantic Reach is in a convenient location to get to the rest of Cornwall and absolutely fine for a childless couple coming outside of peak season. We'll be back.

We have stayed at atlantic reach 3 times in the past 2 years and can safely say this park is fantastic for a family wanting to explore the delights that cornwall has, due to its fantastic location.
first the plus points, We have previously stayed in the 4 bed accomodation, but this time we went for the 2 bed premier, which has to be said was well equipted and comfy (apart from the beds), the cooking facilities were fantastic in the house, but if you are like us there are plenty of takeaways nearby. as i have previously said the best part about Atlantic Reach is its great location to get around cornwall, you can reach any part of the county within the hour and not touch one of those horrible little lanes that you can sometimes come across.
There is also a regular bus service that picks up from the park every hour, and it is regular. to the person that complained about it, i would suggest reading the timetable.
My personal preferences for places to visit would be, Crantock Beach, Padstow, Cardinham Woods (fantastic for dogs), Polperro, Kingsley village food hall and Lizard Point.
Now for the bad points, Don't book anything less than the 2 bed premier, the other house are quite bad. the park does give the impression of a council estate as you drive in which the owners really need to address because i could see it putting off guest when they arrive. This was the the first time we stayed peak season and it was a bit like a car park with cars just dumped on the roads around the park.
All in all, i would recommend this for anybody who don't just stay on the park and like seeing diffferent sights, I wouldn't recommend this park to anybody using this as a base for nightclubbing in newquay & familys that only stay on the parks griounds.

Stayed at a privately owened house, that was very nice and clean, but double bed was most uncomfortable. We have a disabled person in our party, which was made clear, pity they didn't tell us that it isn't suitable on the whole for people with disabilities, very hilly and pot holed roads!. Half the things they advertised was not available, bouncy castle , trampouline and coffee shop. Changing facilities at the pool inadequate, we were crammed in like kippers! The entertainment at night was dire . We heard alot of people complaining about it, and when we asked if they would return, no one said they would, and they would not recomment it. Staff unhelpful and not friendly

We arrived at 10am ready to check in cannot until 4pm, so we decided to use indoor pool, it was awful, no baby change facilities, really bad smell`. When we asked at reception at 2pm has room been cleaned it was a rude response. We got to the chalet it was in a terrible state, sofa completely sunken, just hard frame. Poor fittings, no bath, stained carpet, hard beds. You have to provide your own bath towels, tea towels. If i had paid £1400 for this ..which is listed price for Aug I would of been livid. There are dogs everywhere, barking constantly. We did try restaurant on first night, it was Italian buffet...mmmm..not quite.it was £10 per head for dry white baguette with tin tomatoes (not quite bruchetta) cold penne pasta in a processed cheese sauce ..awful..the waitress said how was it..we told her and she said..oh is it your first night you must be tierd...mmmm.. no just no used to eating crap food.Hence we did not return. At 3am in morning the large mirror in bedroom fell off the wall and shattered, i have photographed the fitting for this and the shattedred mirror. When we told reception, had we had our 11 month old daughter in cot in our bedroom it could of been fatal, the receptionist was not bothered at all. If you are tempted with a cheap deal...do not do it.

Unfortunately the 2 bed unit we were first placed in bore no comparison to welcome cottages website description (4 * house). It smelled awful, had very shoddy paintwork, broken locks, badly cracked sink and worst of all beds which had not been changed from previous occupants (as evidenced by various hairs). When we questioned our accommodation, presuming we had been put in the wrong accommodation, we were assured that this was not the case, we were asked to go away until other customers had been dealt with. After securing alternative holiday accommodation and tears from our children, we went again to complain and in fact to ask for our money back as we had decided we could not bare to stay in the accommodation. Having stated that we were not prepared to stay we were offered an alternative unit - this was clean and decorated to an entirely different standard and was in fact somewhere we were happy to stay. (Although this proved to be not without fault - dirty upstairs windows, broken drawer front and bathroom fittings which fell off the walls the first time we touched them.)

The website we used gave no indication of the nature of the resort (not even mentioning that it was a “resort”) or the large scale nature of it (someone else commented that it is like a housing estate and this is fair). Whilst we had no wish to eat on the premises or take part in the entertainment we did enjoy having the swimming pools onsite. The outdoor pool however had a lot of debris in it from the overhanging trees (leaves and lots of bird feathers) and the indoor pool female changing area smelled very strongly indeed of urine, both at the beginning and end of our week although the gents was fine.

Whilst our second unit was OK, I could never chance being given one like the first we were put in. Also, whilst the staff made other arrangements for us, at no point did anyone actually apologise for what we had been put through, nor that the first accommodation did not meet the advertised description. It all made for a traumatic start to our holiday and really took the shine off the whole week.

Given that if we did return we could be put in the first apartment again I have used it as the basis for our ratings,

Having read mixed reviews about Atlantic Reach, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the resort. The staff were always helpful, polite and cheerful. The site was clean and the accommodation was small, but well organised and equipped, and recently refurbished. The entertainment for children was all they needed really - an early evening disco with games most nights. We also went along to arts & crafts one day. I don't think there was much for older kids or adults. We ate in the restaurant once and it was perfectly adequate and the prices were in line with local pubs (a little expensive compared to what we're used to). The pools were both clean and at times we had the outdoor pool to ourselves, even though it was sunny. Overall the resort suited us and as we'd booked directly with club domaine, we didn't pay the extra £75 to use the facilites.

Having read some of the negative reviews on this site I was a little concerned as to what I would find at Atlantic reach. Well, I must leave a review to say that I was pleasantly surprised.

The site was clean and well maintained. Our accomodation was recently refurbished, modern and comfortable. It didn't look very much from the outside but was perfectly functional inside, certainly better for our small family than a caravan would be. The bathroom was especially nice and the linen was clean. We were greeted hospitably by the reception staff who were always polite.

The facilities are not that of a resort such as Center Parcs but are comparable to most small holiday or caravan parks; The 2 pools were lovely and open every time we wanted to use them. The gym looked modern and well equipped. The bar was reasonably priced and ok for a drink/.sandwich after a day out. We didn't eat in any of the restaurants so can't really comment. My 3 year old daughter enjoyed the childrens entertainment/disco and we were happy to watch on with a beer. We only went twice but I think it was on about 4 times a week. There didn't seem to be much for teenagers to do, although many of them seemed to take advantage of the free wifi available in the reception area!

I knew the location before I booked so wasn't surprised to have to drive everywhere. We enjoyed our week because we used the resort as a base to visit different places every day. (Newquay, Padstow, Flambards etc.) If you want to stay on site and be entertained then this is probably not the place for you. If you are looking for somewhere to stay as an alternative to a caravan or private rental then give it go.

This review summarizes what Atlantic Reach has to offer for anyone looking for a holiday in Cornwall.

It accurately describes the Premier accommodation, which are recently refurbished brick built houses.

The description of the entertainment and leisure facilities again accurately reflects what's on offer, which is modest entertainment in the peak season and a quite resort out of season.

We hope that most people who stay at Atlantic Reach enjoy the facilities on offer, and use it to explore the many places to visit around Cornwall.
