“Let down by the restaurant”
Reviewed 10 September 2013 via mobile

The hotel it's self is typical of premier inn , clean , basic and comfy, just what you need for a place to sleep . The room was huge and more than adequate for a family of 4 . The room was ground floor directly next to the roundabout but we weren't too disturbed by noise. The problem with this hotel is the attached pub/restaurant . We found it dirty , drinks over priced with slow poor service . We paid for breakfast for 2 mornings but regretted it after the 1st morning . The continental section is fine and perfectly adequate but the hot food which is ordered with a waitress then brought to table is awful . Cheap ingredients , badly cooked and tasteless . I had a raw fried egg the first day followed by an over cooked rubber omlette the next . The waitress gave me a scalding hot plate with no warning then when I complained touched all over the plate with her hands to say otherwise . Overall great, good value hotel as a base to sight see and visit family but avoid the restaurant !

Great hotel for a stop over not far from Newquay. Could not hear the traffic even though our room over looked a roundabout. We had a meal which was served quickly and was nice and hot. Restaurant staff were excellent. We had a very good nights sleep.

Very disappointed to have such a terrible nights sleep. On arrival I asked reception if room 224 would be noisy as its above the road and they said" no" and that the roads werent busy anyway now the bank holiday was over. We were very happy with the room and its usual standards of bedding, cleanliness etc. However when we were unpacking I asked my husband to shut the window as the traffic was so load...only to find the window was shut!!!!! We asked reception to come and check it as we really thought so much noise could not come through triple glazing. Later on when we came in from our meal the reception said they had checked it and it was shut as best it could be. We had a terrible sleep with noise especially from 5am when traffic got busier..I would never stay here again. Loved the St Austell premier inn and that was on a main road but we heard nothing there!!!

Room Tip: Dont choose room 224 its terribly noisy they need to get more glazing on the windows to sound proof...

Not a bad drive in to the town. The staff were very polite and the rooms were clean and had air con whose importance can never be under estimated. We ate in the Tabletable restaurant attached to the hotel which provided a good range and tasty food. The waitress was especially bubbly and really seemed like she enjoyed being at work. The room was cool and nice and quite until the rush hours traffic started but this wasn't an issue as it coincided with us getting up

We have stayed in this PI on 4 occasions over the last few years and always find it a pleasurable stay. The rooms are always clean and tidy and the staff are always friendly. The resteraunt is usually busy in the evenings and it can be difficult to get a seat if you just want a drink in the bar. breakfast is the usual fare of continental or cooked for an extra couple of quid. Food is pretty good. Would highly recommend staying here

Not to far from Newquay town and easy to find with plenty of free parking. Check in was fast with every thing explained. We were on the top floor away from the lift. The room was the usual Premier standard, very clean and comfortable for a nice relaxing stay. A decent bath and shower (shower gel provided and hair dryer). We had a good sleep and did not hear other people coming and going. The usual tray of tea and coffee was well stocked up. In the morning the staff asked was all ok, as it was.. off we went. We would tell our friends to use this Premier.

Room Tip: Top floor away from lifts.

This review is for the Table Table pub attached to th Premier Inn. We liked it so much we eat twice here in one week. It's a big resturant and booking is advisable but for a chain pub offering cheap meals they were actually very tasty. Steaks excellent and Chicken curry lovely. Staff very busy but very friendly. Made us feel very welcome and we had a bit of a laugh with a couple of them.
