The staff here are excellent, Ben on the reception desk gave us a warm welcome on arrival and assisted us, as did other members of staff, whenever we needed anything. The housekeeping ladies are all very friendly and gave a cheerful greeting in the morning which is always a good start to the day. We had pre-paid for the all you can eat breakfast, which is fairly standard in most Premier Inns, and the evening meals are perfectly acceptable, and much the same as any other of the PI chain. The restaurant staff for breakfast and dinner were also very friendly, some were excellent, although apologies as I don't have any names. The location was really good as a base to tour Cornwall as we were able to travel to everywhere we wanted without too much trouble. The standard of the accommodation is as you would expect from the chain. Comfortable, clean rooms, very little noise from other rooms or outside which all help to keep the good night promise. The thing that sets this one apart is undoubtedly the staff members that go the extra mile.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back, which although overlooking the car park, did give us a countryside view i...

The staff at Quintrell Downs Premier Inn are the friendliest & most pleasant Ive experienced at a Premier Inn.
The rooms are a average about what you would expect for a budget hotel - would be good to have an iron/ironing board in the room, rather than having to traipse down to reception each time tho!

My daughter and myself stayed here for 2 nights and couldn't fault it, the rooms are very spacious with air conditioning and a great shower which is fabulous and very refreshing.
Ben on reception is an extremely helpful young man who helped us with directions to several local attractions and even telephoned one attraction to check closing times for us.
the breakfasts in the restaurant are fabulous hot and tasty and great variety of items from yoghurt through to the perfectly cooked full english.

Great service, comfortable bed, spotless room and good location for an overnight stay for a friend's wedding reception. Breakfast could have been slightly better but wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it more!

We stopped here wanting to be close to Newquay and area without stopping in the town. This proved an excellent base with a young family before we moved on further south.

The option of the attached restaurant for breakfast and evening meal helped a lot especially when you are in kid meal routine.

We also really appreciated the quiet zone that our family room was in. We never heard a noise and all had a good nights sleep while we stayed there.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Major hiccup with their booking system as I had ordered one lot of cooked breakfasts and one lot of continental breakfasts but it kept insisting that we had two lots of continental. Thankfully with the aid of my smartphone and a very helpful Ben things were resolved ( apart from on his day off). We stayed in room 210 which overlooked the roundabout. We didn't really have any trouble with traffic noise as triple glazing has recently been installed. Everyone who manned reception was very welcoming and asked what we were up to/had done. Extra coffee and milk were readily supplied when we ran out. Love the new beds. They really are very comfy. Like the fact that soft and firm pillows are now available. Convenient location to visit lots of places. Do go and see the classic airplanes museum at Newquay airport (don't follow the airport signs as it is based at the far end of the runway). Mawgan Porth is also a gem of a beach with a good chip shop, although it only takes cash.
I think the only downside to the hotel was the restaurant. The Tribute ale was not well kept and was distinctly cloudy and a slight off taste. We mentioned this on several occasions but it didn't seem to get better.
Do try a meal over the road at The Quintrell Downs pub. They do a carvery but I would recommend the hunter's chicken.

Enjoyed an overnight stay here. The receptionist was extremely helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. Do Premier Inns no longer provide shaving sockets; couldn't find one and needed to charge my toothbrush? Parking is excellent and there is a big supermarket just down the road.

I always find the food at the adjoining restaurants slightly lacking - I have still given the hotel a 5 star rating because it is unfair to mark it down for the restaurant, it was my choice to eat there and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I only ever eat in them because they are convenient rather than for the culinary experience!
