We have just returned from 4 nights in Newquay at 21 Rocklands and the apartment really was superb. The view from the balcony in the lounge was fantastic and looked directly over Tolcarne beach and the apartment had everything we would possibly need. Fully fitted kitchen complete with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, oven etc. The lounge layout was very comfortable and contemporary with two small beanbag cubes thoughtfully provided, which were great after a long day. The bathroom and en suite are great, both with rainfall shower cubicles and a bath in the main bathroom. The bed was a double and was very comfortable with extra blankets available if needed.

Nino greeted us on arrival and gave us some great local information and recommendations about some good places to eat, and there was also an information box in the lounge with leaflets and bus information for the local area.

The location of the apartments was great - the view couldn't be much better anywhere in town, and considering Newquay centre is generally a party place with a lots of stag nights, we arrived Saturday afternoon and weren't disturbed in the night at all by any rowdy noise. There is a bus stop just outside to get you into town or towards the airport, or the train station is pretty much directly opposite if you fancy going further afield. Even on foot, it's not very far to get into the main Newquay shopping centre - it took as at a very leisurely pace 10 - 15 minutes walk at the most on a mostly level road.

I think the cherry on the cake was the rooftop hot tub which was fantastic and we spent a couple of hours in there one afternoon, lazing in the jacuzzi and looking out over the town and the sea. The hot tub even has speakers that play local radio stations or a pre-loaded set of MP3's. I would highly recommend sunscreen on the head and shoulders area if you spend a couple of hours in the hot tub as you really don't realise you're getting burnt until you are running around looking for cold things to rub yourself on later on!

If you plan on surfing on Tolcarne beach, or heading over to Fistral beach to surf, there are basement surf lockers and showers in the basement for you to use, and Nino kindly suggested we store our suitcase in there after we left the room on the last day as our flight was not until mid-afternoon, which was brilliant to not have to worry about dragging it around and gave some more freedom.

All in all, I can't fault the accommodation at all, and it is one of the few places I have stayed at where the reality is even better than the pictures on the website. I would happily recommend it to anyone staying in Newquay as a brilliant base for a great holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view are best if possible. The front view is town based and not as breathtaking!

We stayed at one of the rocklands apartments for a week, and we could not have asked for a better holiday! The apartment was fully fitted with everything from cutlery to extra blankets. The views are spectacular, watching the tide come in from the comfort of our big bed was such a luxury! The location is great as it is surrounded by restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. Nino. the manager, was very helpful and came by on the first evening to see if we needed anything. I have never dealt with such a professional holiday company before, everything was organised so well and Newquay itself, of course, is a lovely little town. The decor is very clean, sleek and stylish, we felt so relaxed and comfortable all week. I will definitely be going back

Room Tip: It's worth the extra money to get a room with a balcony, I spent hours sitting out there wrapped up in a blanket staring at the ocean, the views are hypnotically beautiful! .

We have taken 2 holidays at the Rocklands. Once in Sept. and once in February. Both times we enjoyed living right on the ocean, hearing the waves, watching the tide from our balcony. The apartments are beautifully decorated and have everything you need. The ocean is on one side of the building and the city on the other. We just stepped out of the building and Newquay town centre was at our feet. It was the perfect location for us. We loved using the jacuzzi in Sept.

Room Tip: We have used a one bedroom and a two bedroom. Both were perfect for our needs. Just be sure you get an apartment with the living room/kitchen over the ocean.

We stayed at Rocklands (25) in March 2012 and it was perfect. The view from the apartment was amazing, we couldn't believe how beautiful it was. The apartment was lovely, really spacious, fresh and clean. The bed was massive and very comfortable. Lots of lovely variations on the lighting too! Nino was very helpful and recommended some great things to do whilst we were there.

We would definitely stay there again and have recommended to all of our family / friends.

Room Tip: Room 25 had a really long balcony, which meant we had great views from the bedroom aswell as the lounge area.

Loved Rocklands
Stayed with wife and three kids
Super stylish, great location, easy parking. Only gripe would be that it only really has beds for four. 8 year old had to sleep on sofa. Lovely sofa though
