“Our stay at Cliff House”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

We stayed for 2 nights at Cliff House. Paul & Kate were so friendly and welcoming and Kate took the time to book both surfing lessons and dinner at a local restaurant for us. The house is tastefully decorated and very clean. Our room was a little small and on the front of the house so a little noisy at night with the window open. The kids room had fantastic views over the habour and beach. Great breakfast with lots of choice and lovely fresh fruit. Would advise to book parking with Kate as we didn't and had to park a short walk away but at extra cost. Would definitely stay here again :)

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this B&B, it is totally awesome. The service that Kate and Paul would rival any B&B or hotel that I have ever stayed in. They are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them even though we visited during boardmasters festival when Newquay is stupidly busy.
The location of this B&B is in the perfect location for everything as nothing is too far away. The sea view from the public lounge is breathtaking and I'm sure the sea view rooms are just as awesome (we stayed in a non sea view room). The bed and bedding is so comfortable that getting a good nights sleep was so easy it surprised me as normally I find it hard to sleep in a strange bed. I thought the experience couldn't get better until we went down for breakfast, absolutely nothing to complain about, perfect full English/smoked salmon and scrabbled eggs or a continental breakfast basket delivered to your room if pre-ordered in advance. I will return to this B&B every time I visit Newquay and will highly recommend to all my friends and family. Well done on creating an amazing B&B for Newquay, I wish more in the area were like this. I hope you get to No1 on trip advisor as you have earnt it. Thank you Kate and Paul

Cliff House is a lovely B&B can't think of any better, we visited for one night in July. The location is good, within easy walking of Fistral and town, and it has beautiful views over the beach, including the lounge where you have breakfast, which is great. The hosts are fun and relaxed, sharing info and recommendations for the area. We stayed in Little Fistral, it is snug, as described, but with a big comfy bed that you can watch boats and surfers in the sea from. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or revisit.

Stayed for a night (gutted only one) last weekend and all I can say is WOW....as already stated from the moment you arrive you are made to feel very welcome by Kate and Paul and they are two of the best host you could ever want. Don't normally do B&B's but after this experience would definitely consider it again. Nothing seemed to be to much trouble and Kate and Paul offer up there house as if you are life long friends....The bed and pillows were beautifully comfy and had a great nights sleep. Breakfast is everything you could imagine (and I'm sure if you asked even more).....if staying in Newquay again this would be my first choice of accommodation, would definitely recommend it.

Think this is probably the first time we have stayed in a B&B, and if all B&B's were this friendly, flexible, and comfortable I think we'd favour them over hotels in the future.

Stand out features:
On our first night we arrived at 3am due to a long journey, Paul had stayed up to let us in and help with our bags. Despite the time, he was incredibly welcoming and helpful.

The building is very well updated, reception rooms and bedrooms are all light, airy, and very comfortable with quality furniture and bedding.
Coast views are amazing from the back bedrooms and lounge/reception room.

Kate and Paul are incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, helpful. They've thought about the little things that make your stay all the more enjoyable, like welcoming you to join them for a drink, and access to fresh milk for teas and coffees in your room, and they are always looking for ways to establish themselves as the best in the area.

Breakfast is fantastic, within reason they pretty much provide you with what you want. Can't help but recommend the poached eggs, Paul's got them mastered!

Wouldn't think twice about staying again if we were in the area.

Kate and Paul are extremely amicable and gracious hosts. We felt at home right from the time we entered the place. Every nook and corner of their home (which will be yours during the stay) is tastefully done and you know they've put their heart and soul into this place. Location was great, view from the room was spectacular, breakfast was amazing... Can go on and on.. But you get the drift right.
