“EXCELLENT”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2011

The Tregarthen guest house is the best accommodation we have stayed in for a long time. The location is just right, a short walk takes you to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants, but is far enough from them for well earned peace and quiet. The room was very modern and spotless at all times, being cleaned every day. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection. Julie and Jim are the perfect hosts in every way. Extremely friendly and welcoming. They even gave us a garage key so we could lock our bikes up safely any time we wanted. Newquay is an amazing place, made even better because of this brilliant guest house we stayed in. We will be returning! From your other Leigh & Gemma xxx

Room Tip: we had room 4 which had its own private entrance

Just stayed for 2 nights, upon arrival Julie was extremely friendly and welcoming, showed us to our spacious and very clean room. Lovely en-suite and modern decor. We were in room 7 and had our own terrace area, added bonus. Although we were near a busy main road it was very peaceful.
The breakfasts were cooked to perfection, and the potrions were generous. What more could you want to start the day with? :)
Without hesitation we would definately recomend this guesthouse/B&B to anyone, Julie went above and beyond to make it a home away from home!
We would both like to thank you for a lovely and relaxing stay! Hope to see you again!

Had a great stay. Rooms were immaculate and comfortable. Service was great, and not far from the local beaches and shops/restaurants. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was clean and spacious, with a decent sized bed, freeview TV and free wifi, with a good shower (not a bath). Julie was very friendly and welcoming, which makes a huge difference. Breakfast was served at 9am each day (no choice on the time), and was quite a good cooked breakfast, with some choice of cereal.

As for the location, we got the train to Newuqay, and the B&B is about a 10-15 minute walk from the station, heading out of town. This meant that it was a bit of a walk into town each day, but that wasn't a bad thing, as it was a pleasant walk. Also, I was with my girlfriend so it was nice to be slightly set away from the busy main street of pubs and bars which get really busy at night. Due to the location it probably wouldn't suit surfers, as it's a long walk to the main surfing beach. However, if you are looking for quieter beaches, with nice bars and restaurants nearby, then it's in a really good location, with two or three good beaches and bars nearby.

Tip - keep an eye on the B&B's website, as it sometimes has offers on the room prices, which can be a lot cheaper than B&Bs in the centre of town.

We only booked for two nights and tried to book another night. (Julie I see why you are all booked up) it is one of the best guest house's we have ever stayed at if not the best. Julie the landlady was very polite and welcoming and the room (garden room) was very clean. we thoroughly enjoyed Cornwall and knowing that we were going back to a lovely guesthouse made it all the more enjoyable. Once again thank you Julie and expect us back again for a longer vacation.(maybe forever according to my wife).

Room Tip: the garden room was delightful.
