“Stunning area”
Reviewed 29 October 2012

It's lovely to stand on the top of the cliff & watch the surfers in the sea.
The beach is beautiful & there are plenty of rock pools for children to explore.
The scenery is totally picturesque & it is a place you don't want to leave once you are there on a warm & sunny day.

“Best beach in the world”
Reviewed 24 October 2012

Fistral is a beautiful beach with lots of space, even on a busy summers day. Lots of clean loos and showers and a cafe at both ends of the beach too. Watch the car park though - make sure you pay for your parking as the car park is camera controlled and you might get a penalty ticket through the post if you don't put enough money on - you have been warned!

“Best beach in the uk”
Reviewed 23 October 2012 via mobile

As stated the best beach in the uk. Clean beach. Nice sand a few pebbles. Great facilities to hire equipment shower change. Really nice shops. Not cheap. But nice. £4 for a wet suit for an hour can't go wrong. Great waves for body boarding. Love this place.

“The best beach to surf and snorkel”
Reviewed 22 October 2012

Once you find a parking space, the beach is then all yours. The rockpools are amazing and when the waves are good the surfing is out of this world.

“Great Beach break in spring, Silly crowds in summer”
Reviewed 16 October 2012

Definitely worth a visit during spring/autumn and die hard only during winter due to temps and mainly big off shore reef breaks. The summer is an entirely different story, Every man, woman, dog, stag do, kook come out to learn on a relatively consistent 1-4ft break, Not very exciting even for a beginner/intermediate and definitely not worth hanging around in the crowds. The problem is when good swell arrives like almost anywhere these days localism exists and if you are not confident to drop in or patient to wait in the lineup then expect to attract trouble. In terms of facilities newquay pretty much has it all, Sadly the english charm has long gone and been replaced by tacky shops, bars and stag/hen friendly bnb's almost everywhere. Personally i would head further down the coast for a holiday, Perranporth is another great option for surf although also crowded during summer but a much friendlier relaxed place with a small village. The beginner surfers in pp tend to stay in the slop whilst the ones looking for waves will swim further out past the line up of schools, The beach is huge though and has enough space. Overall, Fistral is worth visiting but be aware of the crowds and if there is no swell then don't bother spending your time in newquay move on further down the coast and visit some beautiful cornish locations and also some of the best classic spots for surfing in the UK.
