A fabulous midweek break with elderly parents in very comfortable rooms and excellent facilities. The breakfasts were amazing with good choice of food and beautiful environment. Everything was perfect.

Room Tip: fabulous for well behaved dogs too

Loved our visit as usual. Minor niggles, decor now needs sprucing up a bit, the sofa springs were uncomfortable at one end (unable to sit there!). Bed linen was well worn and housekeeping not up to previous standards. Bit dusty, towels not replaced etc The staff expect a very prompt check out - the door was knocked at 1000 sharp and then again at 1005!
We had a lovely dinner in the brasserie, pleasant waiting staff, portions were perhaps a little on the small side.
Gorgeous location, will probably visit again, have noticed the prices have increased a little, they need to update the decor if they want remain 5 star, it is quite costly to stay here and I would expect a little more for the price.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor. I am glad to hear that you loved your stay again, bar a few minor niggles.

I am sorry that you felt the housekeeping was not up to standard - this is an area we normally pride ourselves on hugely. Indeed in our recent VisitBritain inspection, the housekeeping was the highest scored area in the cottages. I have passed on your comments to our Head Housekeeper, who will no doubt undertake a very thorough clean of the cottage you stayed in.

I am delighted to tell you that nearly all of the cottages will be having rennovation work this Autumn. We had planned to do work in the spring of this year, but we had such a busy few months that we couldn't manage to block off the required cottages for the works! The new carpets are currently waiting in a store room, with fitting taking place in the week commencing the 19th September; we have some beautiful new sofas on order - delivery will be in early October. Some of the cottages are having new soft furnishings, and others new flooring and work surfaces.

I am sorry that you felt the cottages were a little costly - in August our prices are at their highest point for the year, and we do hope that when you consider all the facilities that you have free and unlimited use of (indoor pool, outdoor pool, tennis courts, golf course, croquet lawn, indoor playroom, teenage room), that there are staff available 24 hours a day to assist you, plus the daily light clean by the housekeeping department, most guests find that the cottages represent good value for money when compared to other self-catering properties. For next year we are looking at adding a few other little complimentary treats for our long staying guests, to further boost the 'value for money' experienced.

I do look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Best wishes, Veryan Armstrong, General Manager

The hotel staff could not do enough for us. We took our two dogs , a West Highland White and a Scotty, who were also made very welcome. The room was large and light with a very comfortable bed. The Hotel itself was very clean and well maintained with very good amenities.

We have now stayed at the Headland in their cottages for 3 years on the trot, to celebrate New Year. We are a family of 3 with grandparents and our most loved dog! We have had some of our best New Years here.
The cottages are first class, beautifully decorated and very cosy.
We can only agree with other comments, the staff and management are superb!!
It is so lovely to stay at a "family run" hotel, who obviously love what they do and appreciate their staff as it shines through.
Can't wait until December!!

This is an impressive hotel in a magnificent location. I found all the staff here to be professional and courteous. The good reviews are justified.
I was in a room yet to be refurbished and preferred the older style, as it felt cosier than the contemporary design.
Outdoor pool is very big and very warm, reason enough for me to return here. I am booking for next summer.
The Witches starring Anjelica Houston was filmed here.

Room Tip: My older unrefurbished room had no maintenance issues and was very clean.

My husband and I, accompanied by our four year old son, had a great three night break at the Headland Hotel. Our room was very comfortable and had great views of the sea. This is an ideal location with beach and coastal walk on the doorstep. Newquay town centre is a 5min walk away.

Staff at the hotel were very attentive, breakfast was plentiful and the free facilities which include games rooms, swimming, both indoor and outdoor, pitch and putt and tennis, made our stay very enjoyable.
