This seaside hotel is a large square red Edwardian building, very grand and very well run. Fantastic position on the headland with sea all round and beautiful Fistral Beach below. But it's not at all faded, it's buzzing even in January, with a wide range of guests, and I can see why. It is very clean, warm not stuffy, the log fires are attended to, the upholstery is comfortable, the bedlinen is good soft cotton. The excellent staff notice what you need helpfully, not intrusively, and they seem happy. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and arrives just when you want it. You make your own toast so it's fresh. Dinner was very good and there's none of this must dress for dinner stuff. Broad age range of guests. We relaxed totally and would go back any time. January was great but I'm sure it would be excellent in summer too.

A fantastic hotel, with warm friendly staff . As a dog owner it is very refreshing to find such a lovely hotel that welcomes guests and their dogs. I can highly recommend this hotel for its food, decoration, location and most of all friendliness. We will definately be going back to this hotel in the spring of this year.

Our stay was for the New Year Celebrations, and it was our best one ever, made possible by the owners and their wonderful staff.

Our Best Wishes
Hilary, Robert and Daniel Gunson (not forgetting Oliver our Standard Poodle)

Stayed at the headlands for two nights after the New year. We have stayed several times now and enjoy the stay every time. It is one of those places that make you feel special. The staff are fantastic and remembered us from our last stay a year before. The weather was very cold outside. But the hotel was lovely and warm with log fires burning in several rooms. Breakfast & dinner was excellent as usual. You could watch the sea for hours from the dinning room. This place is not cheap, but good value for money at certain times of the year.

Built approx 1900 and retaining many of its original features this is a very nice hotel perfectly situated on the headland but has recently had holiday premises built adjacent and this spoils its location and outlook.
Out of season this is good value but to pay full price for our small en-suite room would be rather expensive.
Nice dining room, clean bed/bathroom and wonderful staff plus free parking in a prime position an out of season visit is good value.

I arrived for a "surprise" 5 night new year break along with my wife, two teenagers and a four year old! Enough ammunition to test most hotels resources. We had two adjoining "budjet" rooms which were small but very well fitted and immaculate.
We had an amazing and truly relaxing break with only a small blemish ( they forgot our breakfast order which we were more than adequately compensated for) The staff were excellent in every department and we will definitely return.

We have just spent 2 nights between Christmas and New Year at the Headland with our 3 teenagers. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very professional, and the atmosphere relaxing. Food was great, and both evenings there was entertainment which added to our stay.
And of course the location is fantastic, you can watch your family surfing from the comfort of the bar.

Myself, my husband and our dog stayed in the self catering cottages attached to this hotel. We have stayed here many times and had our wedding here in 2007. We have always found the staff to be helpful, friendly and professional. The cottages are very well equipped and immaculate and the hotel is beautiful. The indoor pool area could possibly do with updating however it is clean and has a lovely sauna. I would recommend staying at the Headland if you are visiting the Newquay area.
