“Iconic Landmark with stunning views”
Reviewed 28 April 2010

Like many people we met on our trip tp Newquay we too had our trip to Egypt cancelled due to the volcanic ash cloud. We had not visited Cornwall since our childhood ..and we were not disappointed! The Headland is a beautiful Iconic hotel. We were greeted by excellent staff and we also had an upgrade to a lovely room with a coastal view. The bathroom was a huge and well decorated. Our bed was gorgeous and the maid lovingly arranged my teddy bear in the middle of the bed each day.
The headland is a very historical hotel and Adam on reception had no hesitation i showing us the old photographs of the Royal family which had stayed there,I found it absolutely fascinating. The views of many of the bays are spectacular, especially Fistral, which has to be the creme de la creme of beaches.
We ate twice at the Terrace, once for cream tea and the other for dinner. On both occaisions we experienced great food and service. We did not at at the Sands Brasserie for dinner, although the menu looked really good.
Breakfast was also very good, the choice and quality of food was excellent.
The other great thing about this hotel is that is away from all the notorioius
rif raf in town.We really enjoyed walking into town each day from the hotel.
Overall we had a fabulous time at the Headland,it made me feel very nostalgic. We would not hesistate to stay there again.

Fantastic hotel. Staff were great from the moment we arrived they couldn't do enough for us. Views are gorgeous, could spend hours watching. Stayed in two different rooms one with internal view and sea view, both fantastic very comfortable. Restaurant is great, breakfast very good. Can't wait to go back!

We were due to go to Egypt just after the volcanic ash cloud appeared and all the flights were cancelled!!!!

We decided to go and relax for a few days in Cornwall. Originally, we have booked a room to a different hotel. The room was not what we expected and decided to check out in the same day that we checked in.

Went to the headland hotel and they gave us a room straight away based on best available rates. It was just wonderful: the room, the bathroom, the pool area, the services, the staff, the food....everything!!! We really felt that the staff was looking after us: they have even cooked a special meal for my partner who had a very bad stomach. They were great. We will definitely go there again.

Special thanks to Denise (Reception), Claudia - restaurant, The young Lady from the reception that arranged for the special meal (sorry for not remembering the name), the chef and the young man at the reception that handled our check out (I do apologise for not catching the name). Thanks to all staff - excellent experience: will definitely do it again!

Lovely location and wonderful views!!!! Go for it!

I have stayed at the Headland Hotel on several occassions and when planning a romantic weekend in Cornwall I thought I would try the Headland Cottages rather than the hotel. All I can say is that they are absolutely fantastic!! We stayed in Beach 2 and it was sheer luxury! Beautiful views over Fistral Beach, Balcony, Four Poster Bed and Fire place what more do you need to have the most romantic weekend! Will definetly be back for more!

Fantastic views, food and service with an unrivalled position on the cliff top, set in its own grounds, makes this hotel "simply the best".
During our stay at Easter 2010 we found the Headland staff both professional and friendly and willing to meet all our our needs. Log fires, four poster beds and a panoramic view of the coastline adds to the comfort of this hotel.
As a family we have been visitors to Cornwall for over 40 years and the Headland Hotel offers unique interests for our extended family, which covers three generations (teenagers, parents and grandparents) - providing relaxation and quiet rooms, various sporting activities, a touring base, and the challenging atlantic waves to master. Early morning walks from the Hotel, down on the beach or up to the coastguard lookout are a "must". Gloria & Chris Keene

We have stayed at The Headland many times over the years and this year was no different. The ambience of the hotel, the attentive staff , the superb food and luxury presented rooms - everything was perfect again, including the weather!! Unlike many hotels, The Headland is considerate to owners with more than one dog. Being a family of four with two young Springer Spaniels it is difficult to find hotels in good locations to accommodate us all in one suite but as usual The Headland did and it was fantastic!!
