A lovely Victorian Hotel very friendly and helpful Staff, breakfast first class. room bit too hot for me and tele could do with an update otherwise no complaints and would recommend. The hotel would be perfect for a family break or the surfer for even in November they must have been 40 or so.

This hotel was really like staying in Newquay 20 years ago. Yes it's in a fab position , yes the staff are polite and friendly ,yes it's inexpensive, but there are still carpets in the bathrooms ! It is fine for a night away in a central location but really don't expect much due to the fact it is so dated. The showers are shocking. There is, however, lots of fun to be had taking photosy on the amazing staircases.

Just spent the weekend at The victoria Hotel Newquay with our friends which we had booked through groupon. as you walk through the main door you are reminded of a bygone age with a grand staircase chandeliers and large reception rooms. The receptionist on arrival was not at all talkative and didn't see the joke that my friend had made by being friendly but then we all have bad days. The two rooms we were allocated had good sea views clean and tidy as was the on-suite. The furniture was in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The hotels lounge area was quite magnificent with chandeliers and several sofa's to lounge in. There were two dining rooms both very splendid one which had great views of the sea and beach although the later was not in use other than for a private party on the saturday. The full breakfast was a bit of a let down on the first day although it looked good it had little taste I think because it was probably already made up and kept warm and I mean warm not hot. However on the next day the four of us ordered scrambled egg with bacon this was a lot better and we all enjoyed it a lot more than the full English. On the saturday night there was a childrens Halloween party in the main bar with probably every child under 10 from Newquay. We popped in and only had one drink which was not cheap 2 largers and 2 tonic waters £14 so we crossed the road to weatherspoons. The indoor pool is excellent. Although we were on the second floor the thumping of music through the night which I am not sure if it came from the hotel or Berties nightclub next door did keep us awake. The receptionist when we checked out was 1st class an improvement on the one that
had booked us in. All in all not a bad stay but also not a great stay.

Stayed one night, great staff, small old rooms. Furniture in rooms is decrepit, Goodwill would reject it. Furniture in public areas is OK. Included breakfast was OK and worth the price (free). The area surrounding the hotel is walkable and kinda beach T Shirt shoppy.

Room Tip: Who knows?

I have to say that tghe room was comfortable, clean and tidy. The only issue, but a bog one for me is that the Waiter at breakfast spent his whole time talking to a group of single ladies also staying. While I don't really blame him for giving them his attention, it was beyond lecherous. The issue was he came over 3 times to say he'd be with us in a few moments, but more than 40 minutes later, we were still waiting - and this is for breakfast! We left the restaurant hungry and un-fed. I complained to management who agreed to take breakfast off the menu but made no effort to put it right. My advice is that is you want to dumb down, give it a try. I would never cross the door step again.

I booked a short break at The Victoria Newquay through an internet site.Having done so I came across numerous reviews of the hotel which gave me reason to question my booking at the Victoria.
Arriving at the hotel we were greated to the grandure of a late Victorian hotel with spacious open areas and lots of character.
The receptionist could not have been more helpful, friendly and well mannered. Our room was on he third floor which we initially accessed by the lift and later used the stylish staircase ( for the exercise! )
Our room was spacious, clean, well decorated and with a bathroom which appeared to have been recently renovated. The view from both windows was of the high street ( we were located to the side of the hotel). The bed was comfortable and the following weeks room maintainance was to a high standard. There was no noise and we slept well.
We ate in the hotel restaurant on the evening of arrival and for the rest of the week. The food was to a high standard and served hot and at very reasonable prices. The young waiters were friendly and well mannered. We chose the full English breakfast which was to a good standard and again served hot by equally friendly waitresses as the evening before.
I noted one reviewer on this site complaining with reference to the charge for the car parking at the hotel. The charge we paid was £10 for the week and there was no issue with space.During the course of casual conversation with other visitors in the town we found that some were paying £5 per day.
Bad press comment re The Victoria completely unjustified, room, staff, service and food all to be recommended. Our thanks to all at the hotel. We had a blast!

Room Tip: Can only state that our room on third floor was qiuet
