“Brilliant weekend”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

Hotel is ideally situated next to bars shops and restaurants and a short walk from all the amenities. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and the staff from the reception to the room maid were friendly and most helpful. Because of full occupancy with all the Christmas parties breakfast was served buffet style instead of individually as is the norm and there were a few problems with people taking huge portions leaving nothing for others which caused delays whilst more food was cooked. The food quality was excellent though as was the evening meal we enjoyed in the restaurant. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: When we booked originally there were no sea view rooms available. Upon arrival I checked again and t...

Just spent two nights here in December and it was fantastic! Excellent location, near shops and restaurants! The rooms are clean and tidy! The breakfast choice is brilliant and I couldn't decide what to have because I wanted it all! The hotel is an old hotel so the rooms are outdated but they were perfectly fine! Staff are lovely too! Overall, I'd recommend this hotel,
I have thoroughly enjoyed it!

Spent one night at this lovely hotel for our wedding annirversary, and was a little put off by the negative reviews. But has a lovely time, it was like stepping back in history, with a fantastic location, dog friendly and the evening meal, steak was one of the best I have eaten. Room was a good size and very clean, Staff friendly and very relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Room Tip: Sea view a must

Nice room. Stayed for one night. Super friendly staff. Didn't get my phone fixed. The walls of the rooms are so thin you can hear every word people are saying next door. Downstairs two parties were on - I struggled to sleep all night. Lovely interior of the hotel. Great location. Bad wifi. Had to sit on the stairs to have some reception. Breakfast was OK. But almost no fresh fruit, just a little watermelon. Beautiful views. Nice shower.

This hotel looks grand from the outside, but is just as enjoyable inside.
It feels like you have entered a different era. Food could be better, but apart from that loved the views over the cliffs. It has a great position near the town centre. Its a shame the beach lift no longer works!

Room Tip: Sea facing!

As you walk through the main door to reception nostalgia hits you, in its day this must have been a marvellous hotel with ladies in hats and horse drawn carriages,It has the feel of olden day Grace.

The staff pleasant , the position and views fantastic, but I'm afraid that's where the good news ends.

This hotel is tired, this ole lady needs a lot of money spent on her to bring her back to her forma glory days, the rooms Are so dated and poorly decorated its a pity to witness.

The decor is in a very poor state with repair after repair just bodged and repainted over which looks terrible, cracked and broken tiles in the bathroom with shabby filthy old double glazing this hotel needs a lot of money spent.

The spa is very close to being condemned in my opinion, it smells and feels very dirty and if your looking for a sauna then take a coat, you have more chance of raising a sweat in a fridge.

Food ok
Service the best they could do with what they have

Try for a room on the roof as you won't sleep if Anyone is above you, talk about squeaky floorboards, this is an old hotel.

Room Tip: A different hotel
