What a lovely place to stay. The team are all helpful and positive. The management would do any thing for you. The room was amazing with the see veiw, it's clean and well organised. I will definitely be coming back to this hotel. The dining area top class with a sea veiw. I real enjoyed my self there. The 2 bars are brilliant. Swimming pool and gym was great. I look forward to stopping there again

I have stayed at this hotel for a few weeks now whilst working in the area and am constantly impressed with the professionalism of the guys working here. The reception staff are always helpful and go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The rooms are clean and tidy, the facilities are excellent. I also have to mention Michael and Dean for making the time here much more enjoyable! I'll be sad to leave when the job here ends! Thanks guys, and keep up the hard work!!

This is a beautiful hotel and we loved our spacious room with an amazing view. The lounge areas in the hotel are lovely, but the pool really does need a make over. It could be amazing - I am sure there are some plans in the pipeline to give it a facelift.

The only other downside was the admin - I had to phone twice to get them to confirm my room which was booked over the hotel's website. Two emails to the contact address on the website went unanswered. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful, but the website and booking confirmation side of things needs sorting out.

Room Tip: Room 107 was spacious with great views and an nice large bright bathroom.

What a fabulous 5 days we spent at the grand old Hotel Victoria in Newquay. It’s a week since we came home and I am wondering what I am doing, hanging out washing when I should be living the pampered life of luxury found at the Lady Vic.

We were 2 couples celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversaries and my husband and I chose Lady Vic despite some disparaging remarks people had left on TripAdvisor. On our arrival we were greeted by Michael and the great team on Reception. We were all overwhelmed by the beautiful entrance and grand staircase and the view through the long lounge to the blue sky beyond the windows.

Having booked in and our cases safely brought in we ascended in the lift to our sea view suites on the 4th floor. Wow, what a fantastic view - the town of Newquay, the harbour and headland, and the cliffs and coastline way up the coast towards Padstow – and all in the glorious sunshine. The rooms were lovely, spacious and tastefully decorated and furnished. Away from town traffic we had the sound of the sea (and the odd seagull!) to lull us to sleep. Tea making facilities with plentiful supplies got us off to a good start. Breakfast was amazing. Fred, the Restaurant Manager, treated us to a feast! Cereals, fruit, croissants, pastries, toast, jam and marmalade, and the “full English”, and of course, tea, coffee and juice in abundance.

A 3-course dinner each evening was such a luxury. There was plenty of superb food on piping hot plates. Nothing was too much trouble for Fred, our waiter Matt and the team. Our pleasure, their aim!

The bathrooms were newly refurbished and just called out for a leisurely soak in the bath or shower. What splendour. It was a treat to be able to share a morning cup of tea chatting to our friends on our balconies whilst watching the antics of the early surfers in the beautiful blue sea.

After a day out visiting an attraction or location in Cornwall, afternoon tea back at the hotel in the comfortable sofas in the sun lounge was just decadent. Then a swim in the warm water of the hotel pool and a few bubbles in the Jacuzzi regenerated us for getting ready for dinner with a glass of wine followed by a couple more in the bar whilst relaxing with special friends for a special holiday in a special place. Bliss!

JuJu from Milford-on-Sea.

Room Tip: Choose one with a sea view, well worth the extra. PS the food is lovely, have your evening meal in...

We stayed in This Hotel for the first time last week. It was absolutely beautiful. It is so elegant. The room was great the bed very comfortable. It had an Indoor Swimming Pool a Jacuzzi and a Sauna. It's close to the town Centre, and had its own parking spaces even though you had to pay extra for it. The Breakfast was very good. We will definitely go back next year

Room Tip: Next time I will pay a little more for a Seaview, but we could just see the sea from our window

We were touring round Cornwall for my husbands birthday and had inadvertently booked into a guest house posing as a spa hotel with pool (Chycara House another review) and had sat on a garage forecourt on booking.com desperately trying to find somewhere else with a pool for that night and the next. We came across this hotel and were not disappointed. For a little more than the guest house had tried to charge us we got a suite on the top floor over looking the sea with an outdoor terrace, living room with sofas and TV, bedroom with 2nd TV and a beautiful bathroom. Hotel has a spa with gym, steam room and sauna and a lovely pool with a jacuzzi and also beauty services. Breakfast was very nice and all the staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel is a little shabby and dated in places but on the whole a lovely place to stay - no complaints

Room Tip: Suites were on top floor accessed only by your key card. There are only 7 suites so was peaceful.
