Picked this hotel from the map as it was half way between destinations. The hotel it self is grand and has nice views. The room was clean yet dated. The problem is the adjoining night club that plays loud music to the wee hours of the morning. The nightclub is part of the hotel so it well aware of the noise. In the morning the reception staff looked tired and under siege from the constant noise the night before.
We were told to park around near the night club upon arrival, which we did, and upon returning home I received a parking fine for not paying the parking! This was the cherry on the cake.

We enjoyed the service given over a weeks stay in June. In addition we must give the restraunt service a 5 star. The hotel presentation is one of cleanliness within the reception and lounge were time as stood still. To be taken back to a time were manners and good food are a priority this is the hotel for you. In addion try the pool and gym.

We had a 2 night stay in the Victoria Hotel. We found the ambience, the staff and the location excellent. Parking was nice and convenient in the hotel car park. The hotel is nicely placed for walking excursions along the coast both way.

Newquay is a great place to go for a city break, with plenty to do for all.

I visited for a meal with friends and was dismayed to find a tiny little Car Park which was charging £5 for 4 hours; however, when I spoke to reception the person on the desk said as we were there for a special occasion, the fee would be waived. Good job I hadn't paid !
When the meal was served in the Dining area, we were delighted with both the meal and the service. It was nice to see the waiters / waitresses allowed to have some light banter with guests. Everyone's food arrived together ( we were a party of 20+) and everyone's was hot !
That doesn't always happen in other establishments.
A quick look around the "edges" and into the bedrooms and suites revealed that the place itself is now a shadow of what it presumably was in its heyday, but still has an air of grandeur about it.
People who were staying there commented that although the rooms were nice, the seagulls which were nesting outside the windows on the ledges, kept them awake a good part of the night.

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the Seagull nests.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Victoria. As you first enter the lobby through the old wooden and glass revolving doors, you could be forgiven for expecting to see Agatha Christie,or some other 20's or 30's icon passing the other way.The hotel has kept all of it's old-world charm, whilst making a decent stab at updating the facilities. We booked a room with a sea view and cannot stress strongly enough what an important choice this is.The Victoria is situated right on the edge of the cliffs on the small headland separating Towan and Great Western beaches and the view is a spectacular vista of the beaches. The room was on the small size but comfortable. With a new bathroom which was clean and adequate,if a little bijoux.(toilet jammed in between bath and wall a bit of a tight fit). There was no fridge or safe but all other facilities you would expect were there.I have to say the standard size double bed was a little on the small size if you are used to a King or Queen size, but this is nit-picking.The swimming pool is a modern one with sauna and Jacuzzi available for no extra charge from early till late. The Spa was excellent and competitively priced in my humble opinion for the treatments on offer.Lady Walton was made to feel a new woman by her pampering. We only dined in the restaurant for our package included breakfast which was all-encompassing and should fill up the most hungry guest. The Victoria is centrally Located in the town centre close to all the resorts facilities and is only a 2 minute walk from the train station if arriving by rail.Friendly, helpful staff will also ensure you have a happy stay.

Room Tip: Definitely fork out the extra for a sea view.It will be the best few pounds you spend on your trip
