I have stayed at this hotel twice over the summer months. During my first stay, I was upgraded to a superior room on check-in due to the Diamond Tier membership card that I have with Best Western group. I had a lovely room with a sea view, good Wi-Fi, clean and very, very comfortable. The hotel serves excellent bar and restaurant food at a very reasonable price. Again, the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.
During my second stay, the hotel was full of German tourists. No problem naturally, but beware that this hotel is very popular with coaching parties that can at times, cause a delay in serving your breakfast. The staff are flat out at this time but be prepared, it isn't the fault of the waiting staff.
I do recommend you stay at this hotel due to the friendly nature of all the staff - the bar staff are particularly friendly and it is reasonably priced both for drinks and food. Highly recommended and I can't wait to return to Newquay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel - great views.

We stayed in the Bristol for a long weekend and had a great time. The staff are superb. Whilst not offering the last word in modern decor, the hotel more than makes up with it's great food and service. There was a large function (200+) on the Saturday which actually improved the atmosphere and made for an interesting evening.
A review is always a comparison between expectation and experience. The Bristol does exactly what it says and will not disappoint.
Go here, relax, absorb the traditional atmosphere......and leave your worries at the front door!

Room Tip: We had a sea view which was extra, but spectacular. Sunsets over the headland must be magnificent...

Faultless service, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth the extra for a room with a sea view, we were right at the top (330), a bit of a climb, but as the receptionist said, it was well worth it for the view. We didn't eat in the hotel only because we stuffed so much when out in the day that we did not need to eat in the evening. Would we go back? Most certainly!

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the sea view.

Stayed in a family room for two nights. The hotel was quiet. A bit dated in terms of decor and furniture in the rooms. But we couldn't fault the service. The staff were all excellent and friendly. The restaurant staff were superb. We had two excellent diners and great " full Cornish" breakfasts. The beds in the rooms were a bit hard for our tastes. Otherwise no complaints. Located on the cliff overlooking the beach we had a view of the rear car park. But as it was stormy we probably escaped the worst of the wind noise!!

We stayed for just one night but had a most enjoyable and relaxing experience with excellent service in both reception and restaurant. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view over Tolcarne Beach and beyond. Dinner and breakfast were both good. The whole hotel is rather dated, but that apart, a good place to stay, and an excellent location.

We had a spacious and comfortable room with great views over the sea. The en suite bath/shower was dated and the worst feature, but adequate. The restaurant was excellent and far ahead of anything we were able to locate in Newquay. However, what made the stay particularly memorable was the attentive service by all staff; definitely willing to go the "extra mile" to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Get a view over the sea.
