We stayed at this hotel from Monday to Friday. The Hotel is of a high standard. The rooms are very clean and the Hotel in November was extremely warm. Although we did not use the leisure facilities, we did go and look at the pool which was adequate, even though it is being refurbished in 2012. The staff at the hotel are very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and buffet style but table service can be arranged if you require it. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the town, and there is a pub at the end of the road with an open fire and adequate food if you choose to eat there in the evening. The views from the Hotel are spectacular. The Hotel is situated on the top of a hill, the walk from the town up the steep hill may not be suitable for everyone but it was fine for us. Only drawback with the Atlantic was that in November, there is only one bar open and that is the Champagne Bar in Silks restaurant. We would have liked a choice of bars but the other bars in the hotel were not open. We ate at Silks Restaurant on our last night, I don't think this restaurant belongs to the Hotel. The staff again were friendly and the food was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you wish to stay in Newquay which is an ideal base for exploring Cornwall. We ate at the Red Lion pub and The Central. The Central Pub had a 2 for 1 offer on Wednesday, we had two meals for £10 and both meals were very good and great value. Hope this helps if you are visiting the Atlantic Hotel, Newquay.

Had 24 hours at this "Totally Fantastic" hotel in Newquay last weekend.
Being pretty local to Newquay we had a night's accommadation last Sunday night where we met some friends from London who have just bought a holiday flat in NQ and had come down for a catch up with us.
We had an afternoon meal in their Silks Bistro which was outstanding. As it was their son's 21st birthday we had a couple of bottles of Champagne in the Silks Lounge area and afterwards sat down to an afternoon of excellent food. The Bistro is truly outstanding. It was like being on a cruiseliner. There were a couple of not availables during the meal but were substituted by equally great options. The waiting staff were 100% excellent - very friendly and professional.
The room we had which was their standard double was one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in and please dont think i am being flash, but we ve been lucky to stay in quite a few worldclass 5 star resorts all over the world and this room at The Atlantic was seriously great. We had a double Bed and Breakfast room for £85,which we thought was amazing value. The whole hotel is fantastic - very oldy world, British Hotel but with huge injections of classy modern - mainly Silks Bistro.

Being from just down the road in Penzance we will certainly be coming back again, hopefully soon.
The breakfast was also totally fantastic.

If you need to pop into town, then the main street is literally 5 minutes away.

Well done The Atlantic Hotel,Newquay

After having a brilliant stay last year, my daughter and I decided to revisit the Atlantic Hotel in November this year. We opted for the 4 for 3 nights offer. We were pleased to see that Sue O’Connor (who provided excellent service last year and we recommended for recognition) was still head waitress at breakfast. Sue was friendly and as good as ever. The breakfasts were good. Talking of food, we did order room service two of the nights and like last year, the food was excellent. If you stay at the Atlantic or visit the Silks Restaurant you must try their chocolate fondant dessert, it is to die for!! Like last year our suite was cleaned to perfection. We did note however, that the carpet on entering the hotel was a little scruffy and dirty and some of the chandeliers were a little dusty. My daughter visited the ladies toilet on the ground floor of the hotel on one day and was disappointed that it smelled and the toilets were not very clean, we thought this very strange as our large bathroom was spotless.
During our stay there was a conference on one of the days, and we found that it was rather noisy as we could hear it up stairs in our room. Furthermore, the attendees of the conference spilled out all over the hotel and made it difficult to get through the reception area. We did experience difficulty parking when the conference was being held and it was a little chaotic, as the attendees were driving in through the car park exit and exiting through the entrance of the car park. In general it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay, we were just saddened by the condition of the ground floor toilet and noise and disruption of the conference. We would recommend this hotel, but if you do stay, make sure there is no conference or event being held!

Room Tip: Choose a sea view suite they are worth it.

We liked the hotel...many renos completed - it is an old hotel - always lots to do. The room was meticulous...bathroom spacious; views of the harbour fabulous. Quaint combination of contempory and original Victorian. Real fires. You will enjoy the Bistro for supper or just a glass of bubbly...bring a pretty dress and a pair of heels - dressing up is just fine here! Or go in your walking gear - it is that sort of place. Has a touch of that which must have made the "good old days" a lot of fun! Cliffside setting made for a lovely walk in the morning. Staff very friendly, very accommodating. It is hard to make an old hotel work...in November! but it did.

We returned back to the Atlantic back in August whilst visiting relatives in Newquay. Stayed in a Sea View Suite which had stunning full ocean views. Room was of a good size and featured a sofa, desk table&chairs, huge bathroom and a seperate bedroom. Was cleaned daily and was very comfortable, excellent value for money too. The hotel itself is large and has all you may need. Well recommended, will certainly return once again

Room Tip: Sea view suite a must. Also check balcony rooms

spent just one night in this hotel and from the telephone booking to departure the staff were excellent. Twin room with fantastic sea views. and superbly fitted out. Everything yoiu could want for a most comfortable stay. We opted to eat in our room and the room service was excellent. Breakfast had a fantastic selection from continental to full English. Would have loved to have stayed longer. The only gripe I have is why the need to charge per head for room service when only visit per room is made. (only 3 dishes ordered) so felt this was unnecessary.
would definitely come here again
