“Good food but tables tacky”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

Great value food with spectacular views, worth trying if the Red Lion is full.
Friendly staff, but the table surfaces were tacky, apparently it is the antibacterial cleaning solution they spray on reacting with the varnish on the table, just a bit off putting that whenever you come into contact with the table you stick to it...
Some of the chairs need replacing.

“Great family pub, meals and views”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Went here as a family of 2 ad/2ch.on a half term weekend. Cost inc drinks £37.we both had specials ,kids had fish and chips from kid menu . Good sized meals , cooked well. Nice touch that the childrens play area is through into a separate room ,so you can see them but the noise level Is lowered. View cross Newquay bay absolutely gorgeous.went here at Easter and Was a bit worried that as it got busier the meals would get worse , isn't the case so far. Will try again in the summer.

“Not as good as it has been”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Always come here when we come to newquay, and have had great meals in the past. but this time it was a let down. Ordered the cheese burger and it came completely burnt and inedible, the bun was soggy as well. It seems the quality has gone right down while the prices have gone right up. Might give it another go in the future but will see

“Great for garden/terrace views”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

Stopped for a drink and enjoyed fantastic views over Newquay. The dog was welcome and the draft beer was excellent.
In terms of eating, it didn't look that welcoming for a couple, although it was half term. It was very busy with families, lots of high chairs etc, so perfect if you have kids.
The beer terrace/views were outstanding though.
