“All good!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

Have just come back from a long weekend at the Esplanade with my three-year old twins and one-year old son. Had a fabulous time, boys thoroughly enjoyed the pool, soft play area and outdoor play equipment.
The room was very spacious and our patio door opened straight onto outdoor play area which was fab. We had a basic 5 bedroom room which wasn't anywhere near the league of the photos on the website, these must be the upgraded rooms, but ours was still excellent value for money.
As we went out of peak season, there wasn't any entertainment for the children however, the massive advantage of going at this time was the fact that we had access to all facilities with only a few other young families there at the same time.
The reception staff were always happy to help and very child-friendly. There were lots of 'bits' for the children all around the hotel, including the lobby.
We only ate in the restaurant on one occasion as we weren't overly impressed with the meal we had for the price we paid; there was nothing wrong with it, just a bit pricey.
Loved the hotel and will definitely be returning!

Thank you for taking time to leave your review. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay and your family made the most of the facilities. I am sorry you found our restaurant a little over priced. Our prices are in line with the local area and there is always a discounted rate if you book one of our packages before arrival. Hopefully we will see you again soon.
Kind Regards

We were a party of 6 families- 12 adults and 15 children, celebrating a 40th birthday for the weekend off season. We found the hotel staff amazing, helping out enthusiastically with decorations for the evening dinner, moving meal times and being flexible with the menu to accommodate a childrens dinner sitting and being overall very friendly. We will consider making this an annual meeting!

Room Tip: sea view amazing

We stayed at this hotel for four nights on a coach holiday. There were two coaches in which. Made the majority of the guests. The hotel is well situated within walking distance of the surfing beach. The hotel is staffed by staff who are really helpful with the exception of the serving staff who appear to have no leadership or organization with the exception of one waiter Fabizios when he is on the service is brilliant.
There is a large outside playground which is suitable for children up to about eleven years of age. Inside there is a play area to occupy a child during inclement weather. The food is good and varied served well ut slow. The breakfast is varied from a full English to a continental all kept fresh and replenished frequently.
The hotel looks tired but is very clean and comfortable. The little extras like soap shampoo are replaced daily as are beverages and biscuits. Well worth a stay but make sure a parking space is booked . There is roadside parking how
ever all of these are dominated by the surfers.
There are some beautiful views from the large picture wi dows.

Thank you for leaving the review. I am glad you enjoyed the coach tour here and that you found the staff really helpful. I am sorry if you thought there was slight lack of organisation in the restaurant. The restaurant manager was on holiday but I will but I will be addressing this with the others. I am happy to hear you enjoyed the food and will pass this on to the kitchen staff.
Hopefully we will see you again in the future.
Kind Regards

My stay in the esplanade hotel far exceeded my normal expectations of a 3 star hotel. The hotel has amazing views over Fistral beach. Enjoying the sunset from the comfort of the lobby seating area was spectacular and worth the cost of the room! The room was cleaned to a very high standard as were the public areas. The staff were exceptional. I was constantly greeted by smiles and everyone seemed happy to help. Would definitely recommend and will be back for sure!!!!

My trip to the Esplanade hotel was wonderful. The hotel itself is of a high grade of standard maade better by the sea views from the lounge and restaurant. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and their service was excellent. The room was spacious and wwwwith full amenities and the food was excellent, better than I have had in many Michelin starred restaurants. I cannot wait to book my next visit.

Room Tip: A double room is a definate must and a seaview room even better. I was on the first floor and was ne...

We have recently returned for our 3rd stay and have been welcomed back by the friendly staff. We were upgraded to a sea view room following a problem with a disturbance in the next room on our previous stay. The disturbance was not the fault of the hotel but we appreciated the concern that was shown to us and their generosity in upgrading us.
We were shocked when we 1st entered the room as it was narrow and we could only see bunk beds but it then opened up into a huge room with an enormous bed, nicely furnished and decorated. Small TV mounted high on the wall had plentiful channels but was quite hard to view from seating area as it was in a fixed position. Plentiful supply of teas and coffees with generous size mugs. The room was very warm and we slept with windows open. There were some creaky floor boards in our room.
The bathroom was also huge and well supplied with toiletries and plentiful shelving - often overlooked in other hotels. Big fluffy towels.
The hotel is clean and generally well maintained with friendly and efficient housekeepers. It has a green policy and provides recycling bins on the landing.
Breakfast is a very well stocked buffet with additional choices to order. The only downside is the amount of children running around the breakfast room unsupervised by parents and helping themselves to food. Staff stepped in when they were aware but it did not make for the most relaxing start to the day.
Ideal for surfing as easy access to the beach and a surfing hire shop on site with changing rooms, lockers and hot showers free to use.
Lounge and dining areas have superb views overlooking Fistral Bay.
We hope to return next year.
